One issue I have with the main story is that after choosing to recruit either the Templars or Mages, is that the  commander for each faction vanishes  if their respective quest is done. The main quest could be extended by having either Samson or Calpernia aggresively attack the Inquisitions forces and actively try to kill the Inquisitor , instead of just vanishing from the game.

This could also be used to fix the issue of Corypheus being way too passive and never retaliates for major losses (complete Here Lies The Abyss or Wicked Eyes, Wicked Hearts he does nothing in responce, but do both and he pretty much runs away)

Dragon Age Origins did something like this, with the Shriek ambush at the party camp after getting all the treaty allies

...or they could have done the mage-templar war like the civil war in skyrim with you joining a one of them and doing quests. this would have allowed for another storyline which could have been finalised with another gathering similar to the conclave. But they went for the short version and the war was over with a snap of the finger.

The civil war in Skyrim was so badly done.. Bioware could do better than that if they took the main idea from it.

the mage-templar war was pretty much over seeing a Corypheus had already pretty much taken over both factions. I'm on about the leader that vanishes if thier faction was recruited, to play an activerole and  fill the gap in the main quest because of Corypheus being a passivist in the main story.
