Jesus Hollywood needs a fresh batch of talent. Enough with the remakes.

Alien deserves to be sent out with a bang, not a series of wimpers.

No it needs a good crossover with Predator.

Honestly, Alien Isolation was a faithful enough sequel to be considered Alien 5. It's probably the best addition to the universe in terms of narrative since 1986. (or 1992 if you count the Alien3 assembly cut, which is actually pretty good.)

AvsP: Requiem

Requiem could've been good if it was lit properly...and didn't have generic slasher filler for the characters.

Being able to see is pretty important for a movie.

Totally recommend this channel for any Alien fans. His episode about Alien3 was fascinating and spot on imo. It is indeed a very underrated film.

Forget bangs vs. whimpers, the Alien franchise will die with the gurgle and the wheeze of a man who strangles himself with a rope braided from their own hairs after being tortured while imprisoned for decades.

If they had a greenlit for this, I wonder if the intent was to do a full cgi animated feature. The characters look much younger in the art than in rl, so they could get away with that easier if the actors were just doing voice work.... & both Weaver & Biehn have done voice work so that isn't an odd route to go.

I was thinking that Hicks could have been an android in it, maybe they both would have been? It would have been a pretty shocking twist and would have explained why the both looked younger. From what I gathered Blomkamp hadn't even pitched the movie or received a response on it, he said that Fox didn't say no.

I imagine android versions would work really well if Amanda was somehow involved in the film, & their creation was both to compel her & a deception.

I take it they have officially run out of ideas(again) and are just remaking everything until they figure something new out that they can run into the ground?

No it wasn´t. A horror film that doesn´t scare, where I don´t give a damn about anybody (when I can tell them apart), a lackluster monster, and almost made Fincher quit directing because of how he was treated (there´s a reason he had no comments in the quadrilogy edition). Way to kill a franchise. Hope somebody sends it the way of X-Men 3.

Nice music though.

And AvP Requiem should burn too, if only for the Bob Marlien. Decided not to watch it when the teaser was 30 seconds of head exploding.

He'd probably do a passable job at that.

As long as Neill realizes that the Aliens franchise was not developed on the notion of big government/big corporations = bad; it was based on rape, and the fear of childbirth; and that he wouldn't try and force the story to become political, then I think he could do a decent job with it.

What??? The corporation in Alien 1 and 2 was depicted as significantly more horrifying than the Xenomorphs. Deliberately using and prepared to sacrifice the crew to smuggle one back to earth for weapons research.

I didn't mind the second and third sequels. They had their moments, and were better made than most "for the sake of another sequel" franchise extensions.

The director of Resurrection was very good (I love Jeunet) but the writing was a bit on the weak side for O'bannon.

Alien 3 has some good moments, although the allegory is a tad heavy-handed.

I'd still prefer that they stop making more of them, though. Especially the crossovers.

Thing is, there are heaps of good ideas in so many books yet to be brought to the big screen. But they have no "brand recognition" because nobody's put them on the big screen before. And apparently modern business can't sell anything unless everyone already knows about it.

Did you even watch the video? Alien3 wasn't as good as the first two but it was certainly better than any of the later sequels, Prometheus was a major disappointment.

I don't know if there was any solid confirmation that the art was legit before, but Weaver has now confirmed they were authentic. By the sounds of Blomkamp really wants to make his Alien come to life.

No it wasn't.

No version of Alien3s many iterations was set on Earth.

The scripts I've seen were Aliens on a Space Station, Aliens on a Biodome in Space, And Wooden Planet filled with monks that thought Ripley and the Alien were Demonic figures.
