This thread is a perfect example of why there should be a player bug/enhancement repository. What's this like the 10th thread about the "armor bug" yet noone can point to a specific issue detailing information in a timely fashion when BW asks about it (even worse they aren't even aware of it).

 

This is the problem with "gaming communities" trying to take over the role of QA for greedy companies like EA. Everyone gets complacent about it, nothing gets done, and games are released with poor quality and are less enjoyable until patched.

 

The status quo really needs to bloody change...

So armor isn't bugged after all?

 

Hmm, makes me wonder why so many people here came to that conclusion....

Maybe it was the Assassin armor set that showed in their inventory as zero armor and extrapolating from there that all armor was set thus? Personally, I've noticed an increase in durability for some kits as I upgraded their armor, particularly the Katari...though he still takes a beating from archers.

My level 19 katari was one shotted by an archer with full guard yesterday on routine and all i could say was

weird, they only do 1 dmg on me on routine, but 300+ on the other levels

Hi guys,

 

We investigated this issue and found that armor seems to be working as intended.

 

The issue with the Assassin's Mantle (Dawn) having 0 armor is a bug that will be remedied soon.  

 

It is intended behavior that you take more damage when attacked from the flank.  It is also the case that some attacks, such as the Dreamer's attack, ignore armor by design.  The DLC does not affect the way that damage or armor is calculated, as this is a function of the base game that remains the same regardless of additional content that may be installed.

 

If you do notice any specific oddities where you think the system is broken, please post them!

anyway so according to you Andy Kempling in routine archers should hit you and do 1 in damage and in threatening and perilous they should do 300 dmg plus ?

then what is the point of armor ???????

For the people who keep saying armor is bugged when Andy says it is fine, why haven't you guess posted any video evidence? Why are people just posting "omg my katari got 1 shot".

It could be anything, passive ability bugs, etc.

I don't have a position either way anymore, in just satin.

GW noone is trying to take over QA for these companies. Alot of us (non-console) gamers have jobs in the IT field, have developed or modded games and/or are hobbyists. We're trying to get things built faster and better so we can enjoy the game more. Having someone provide more concise and technical details about issues is much better than 100 threads by some hormone-raging teenagers screaming "It's broke. Fix it!!!" (see R* support forum as evidence).

If you want to blame anyone then blame the casual gamers who throw their money at these big companies who put out sub-par product. They are the one providing the capital to those companies that allow them to buy out the more reputable smaller publishers. We all (well some of at least) are in the know that certain companies are blaming pirating as their excuse for their business practice. The reality is they are proprietizing their code and pushing for cloud-based gaming so they can better hide their shady business practices. They've been caught on more than one occasion trying to do unethical things. It was because the "gaming community" that they were exposed. Someone has to keep them honest.

Thanks for looking at. I have a quick set of questions if you don't mind answering. What are the damage types taken (just Front and Rear)? If the game uses "side" damage, then is that included in under the spectrum of "Flank" with Rear? Is there also head damage included?

Flank is side to rear.

sometimes they do, and somtimes they use full draw and 1 shot you :P
I have the best armor with every class and I doubt it is meant that you should die by 1 shot on any difficulty ?

especially when they do 1dmg in routine

I have only been 1-shot by two things.  DC, and archers, and the only time the archers have done it is when they run, turn, and fire a counter shot at you.  Hits insanely high.  Never been 1-ht by a full draw.

Simple test on routine shows that this is just wrong. Please see the video below. 

 

 

As you can clearly see from the video, Armor does not work for attacks to your front. Only the rear.

Awesome, thanks for the specific report--we are taking a look now.  Are there any particular passives you have on that character which you think might be affecting things?  Or any weapon/equipment effects (Beserk, etc)?

Yeah, this is absurd. Getting hit for 500+ damage in routine just shouldn't happen.

The only skill I could think of which could be affecting this is Bear Maules the Wolves, but I have not got it selected in my current build. 

 

I am using two superb heal on kill rings with the Starfang Greatsword with a Superb Fire Rune. This was on Routine difficulty. 

 

Let me know if you need any more info.

Has anyone acquired a general compilation of damage values using the broken assassin armor with 0 armor rating?  Might be useful to know what damage values one is expecting.  Would allow for better analysis at the very least.

Just tested the keeper. It was working properly on her. Will test others and get videos up.

Tested reaver as well and definitely broken on Xbox one as well

Edit - hunter seems to be working properly as does the templar

Potentially a reaver only issue then.

If it is indeed a reaver-only issue, that might explain why we haven't seen this in our internal test cases.  I'll pass on that information.  Thanks a lot!

I have tested Lego Routine Red Templars and Demons, trying to get a vint map at the moment because I know my Lego gets 1 shot sometimes on vints on routine whilst only taking between 1 (1/5) and 10 (5/5) damage front and back against anything other than the commanders from the other two factions.

Running assessment:

Armor works on LEGO on routine..

Swap to threatening and damage from from 1 (1/5) to 30 > 90 (1/5) Red templars and Demons
