Hi! So I finally finished the game, a rather thorough playthrough. So this is actually a youtube comment I found, but the guy sums up my thoughts on the game very well:

"This game excels in making you invested in your Inquisitor. The dialogue options truly make you feel unique compared to, say, Mass Effect 3 (Where you're nice or mean). This allows me to throw myself in to the world and really care about what's happening.

While the overall story is very interesting, I feel like the main story quests are too short and lack the time investment that you had with Origins. I feel as if this game is filled with mmo-style chore quests and short little main quests in-between. Origins felt like everything was the main quests with side quests along the way. The change in style was completely unnecessary and takes away from Bioware's strength in storytelling.

With combat, I can just say I have no interest. AI is so finicky that you have to micromanage if you want to play on higher difficulties. I enjoyed the Mass Effect style system over this where companions felt like compliments to your ability set. DA:I leaves companions feeling like a burden. BUT, I wouldn't ask to have this system removed because I understand people's love for it and the intention of the design.

And the exploration... while the open worlds are definitely cool, they contribute to the chore-style progression system. You wander around doing random **** so you can get to the stuff that you actually care about. I feel they could have created an awesome game by just not doing the DA:2 repeating of environments. They could have actually just done a DA:O style game but with more diverse and larger environments. No need for open worlds.

---TL:DR -
Game immerses you in your character like never before, story is good but weakened by an mmo-styled quest system that breaks up the main story, AI needs a lot of micromanagement and makes combat unappealing at higher difficulties (purely my tastes I suppose), and the open world was highly unnecessary and even takes away from the game.

P.S. - the inventory management is no fun and becomes a chore."

Of course there's plenty to add, but I think he pretty much nailed it. Overall I liked the game. It definetly surprised me a few times, but I kept feeling it could have been so much more, a real 10/10 and not 8/10 (Which is still great).

Thoughts?
