I think there's a problem with my game because I'm unable to finish a complete playthrough with any character other than a female elf romancing Solas...
Yes, even with all the pain and tears and despair, it just doesn't feel "right" or as meaningful to me if I don't romance Solas. I've seen others stating the same so I'd like to know how many of you are also in this terrible, beautiful situation :3

Ive got the same issue but with Cassandra. Even when i play as a tank i find a way to keep her in the party constantly.

I have this issue with Cassandra AND Solas, if not one then the other. Except Cassandra makes the best Divine, so I always lose my GF by making her the Pope.

I had so many plans for characters whilst I was playing the game. I was going to play a male character for the first time just so I could romance Dorian, and a female Qunari mage with the deeper american voice, and I was going to do a worst Thedas run which I had set up my choices for in the keep...
Then I beat the game, and was just - nope! Gotta make another Elf, and get my heart completely shattered again...
I feel the same way about Cassandra and Solas. Of the straight romances, anyway. Both seem to fit in with the plot the best.
Same here. It made me look at the whole game differently. Now, on my maximum lore run, I keep wandering around elven ruins and obsessively reading the codex, hoping that I'll be able to understand him better. It just feels so right for the story.
I forced myself into another romance in this last playthrough. It does feel like you are missing a good chunk of the game though if you don't have the Solas romance going.

My main problem is...I know Harding only will play me out...that nothing will ever come to be...and yet I always end up "romancing"(if it can be called that way) just her!
I hope that one of pretty patches or DLC the whole Harding thing gets finished so my all 8 Inquistors get their Harding.Going on 9th play...and still planning to swoon over Harding...I know I'm helpless case

I didn't even expect to romance him! I just made a female elf because I thought it'd be fun to have hordes of romantic options to choose from! I was going to get some Bull or Cullen, but... THIS NERD HAPPENED :/
And now I can't go back. WHY D:
truuu like the ending is so sad i cried, it feels so right to romance him. It just adds alot to the story especially because of the ending.

exact same problem but with Cullen. This happened to me in DA:O with Alistair and DA2 with Fenris though so I'm hardly surprised.
I don't have that issue with DAI (my poor Quizzy stayed a bachelor) but I definitely had that problem with DA2. I could never get through a full playthrough before I went back, made my Female Hawke, and romanced Fenris.
I romanced Solas the first go-around and all I can say is... He better make up for all that in the future. And by making up for all that I mean giving up some elf booty.
This time around I'm romancing Cullen and it is NOT the same. I keep wishing Solas would flirt with me but he doesn't because I'm human now. And its like a thousand little cuts to my heart. ;_;
I did Dorian on my first run, and was concerned that he would become DA:I's OTP black hole (like how in Origins I can never romance anyone but Zevran). But then I saw the credits scene and rolled a female elf for my second playthrough.
Dorian is witty, sweet, and attractive, but... damn. Solas is the smoothest mofo in all of Thedas. "No, I am declaring it. It was not a subject for debate." Sweet Maker.

I also write as him on a roleplay forum. He is an amazing character to get into the head of.
...well, I'm the odd one out - maybe later when I go back to the game after moving onto other titles I might be stuck on Solas (like I am with Alistair and DA:O and Fenris in DA2 and Garrus in ME) - but at the moment, I'm replaying to see what the other romances are like (currently Iron Bull and next Cullen).
Can't romance anyone other than him. I can't even make another Inquisitor for him, because to me the relationship between him and my first (and only...) Lavellan was/is so special that making another elf and watching them enter the relationship...I can't hahah. I want it to be just him and my original baby Lavellan. 
I /have/ done three runs for her though...oops...

Well I only play elves, and I just can't romance Cullen because that would be wrong since he's a different species.

I am with you on all three of these. I did manage to romance Zev in one DA:O playthrough by playing a mage (since Alistair and my Warden couldn't marry, I could avoid it), but that was it. Every other time, it was Alistair. In DA2, my first playthrough, was dedicated to Anders...after seeing the end, I couldn't stomach him again and totally went for Fenris every time. The "first time" scene between Fenris and Hawke was HOT HOT HOT!
In DA:I, I keep going for Cullen, despite originally wanting to romance IB. Cullen is just...awesome, and this is from someone who hated him in the first one and didn't really like him in DA2 either. I'm surprised as hell that he turned out to be so irresistible!

The only thing keeping me from starting an elf character is the knowledge that I can romance Solas if I do. I fear his romance is another Thane/Shepard romance, that is naught but misery and tears. The ending pretty much confirms it, I think, and it may get worse. BioWare loves to dish out misery.
