Besides crit, health, life-drain, heal bonus does anyone here even use enhanced skill rings (increased damage/duration by X%)? This is just a general consensus topic.

I use the Long Shot one and the Walking Bomb one, mostly because I have no issues keeping alive with the Necro or Archer. I dont think any of the other ones are really worth it.

I've been using the Barrier Ring on my Keeper, but considering everyone and their sister on BSN says it done don't work, I'll probably swap it out. I'm strongly considering using the Walking Bomb Ring on my Necromancer, if I can decide what to swap it out for.

I also haven't been lucky enough to get a Heal on Kill Ring yet, though.

most of the damage ones work and are pretty good for main dps skills. Longshot, shadowstrike/twinfangs, payback strike, walking bomb etc
duration ones don't work as often and I only use static cage at the moment. Im looking forward to using my warcry ring when they fix armor though.

I think it was you telling me that the Twin Fangs ring wasn't really that good.

Come to think of it, I think you were just trolling me...

Well played, sir. Well played.

It won't be long... All secrets will be mine!

I already know your secret (read: not so secret) formula for the Legionnaire... one down, eleven to go!

They are correct, It does not work. I just got a stopwatch and tested it out.  Glad you mentioned this.

Which is a shame. Perma-Barrier FTW!

Oh wait, that would make the Keeper and Elementalist even more broken than the AW, which would make half of everyone cry for balancing and the other half whine about their poor AW being left behind.

I've got a bunch of basic skill ones that I use shortly after promotions when I've only got access to two skills, I don't have any of the main damage skills for any class though.

With a superb cooldown amulet I can keep my keepers barrier up permanently. Rather funny watching it get to 10% and 'cast' back up to full.

I like the poison weapon ring when I use the skill on my alch or assasin since it prolongs how long it is available instead of how long the poison damage lasts

For every other class I use my heal on kill

I used to use the skill set rings but then I got a Superb Attack ring.  I'd rather lose 20% damage on one skill and have +10% damage on everything I do.  That's just me though.

To me that would depend on the class. Some builds rely more heavily on one skill, others do not. With my Necromancer, a Walking Bomb ring would be far better than an attack ring because that is my main damage source. Conversely, the Assassin build many use would benefit more from general attack (unless you have critical chance rings), as you are relying on all your skills more.

I use Pommel Strike damage, but I don't have good rings. The only purple ring I got is 20% armor sundering or sth like that, I'd love to find any other purple ring.

Some of the enhanced ability rings can be very good, but they have to compete with life drain rings which I will always have at least one on for all classes. I only use ability rings on 3/12 characters, static cage duration, leaping shot damage, and twin fangs damage rings. If I had them and assuming they exist and work as intended, I would use rings for walking fortress duration, counterstrike duration, barrier duration, fire flask duration, ice flask duration, dragon rage damage, walking bomb damage, spirit blade damage (lol), and longshot damage.

A Dragon Rage ring or Spirit Blade ring would be borderline op. Guess that's why I haven't seen them yet. It just seems odd that they would have ability rings for some abilities and not all of them.

Multiplierssss. If you had, let's say +100% attack, a +10% attack ring would give you only +5% damage. Skill rings are a separate multiplier.

I'd love to use more skill rings, but half the ones I have don't work, and the other half are for useless abilities. Longshot/Payback strike are the only good ones I have I think, everyone else is stuck using a purple 10% stagger on hit ring in a vain attempt to figure out if that ring does anything (which I think it doesn't).

[WeaponDmg * (1 + Attk%) * (1 + CritDmg%) * (1 + FlankDmg%) * (1 + BarrierDmg%) * (1 + GuardDmg%) - Armor *(1 - ArmorPen%)] * AbilityMultiplier%

Or simplified to:

(100*1.1)-50=60 ~ Which applies to everything including auto attacks.

Vs.

(100-50)1.3=65 ~ Which applies to ONLY one ability.

If assuming 100 base dmg vs. 50 armor and all things being equal, yes?

I like how half the items in game are super OP and would totally break the game, but are mysteriously bugged and do nothing but tempt people to buy chests :X

Ability rings apply after armor...? The flying ****?

Well, that aside, a more definitive answer would require full numbers - armor # per enemy, your existing stats/damage, etc. Personally, I go off thresholds - so something like Long Shot ring lets me one shot archers at wave 5 when the +% attack ring won't, so I'll go with Long Shot ring.

Are you sure? I have the belt and it works. Enemies don't actually stagger they stand still slouched over basically the same thing they do whilst asleep/stunned.

Belt and ring might be different? I'll try again in a solo game to be explicitly sure.
