Does anyone else think that if Varric publishes his book on the Inquisition that he's implied to be writing a few times in banter, that eventually we'll have a situation where we might encounter fans in-universe who ship him and Cassandra... leading to Dorian then triumphantly announcing that he called it and wanting everyone to pay up on the side-bet they had about their obvious sexual tension?

I know for a fact that if you are in a relationship with The Iron Bull he'll ask for details for his book. That definitely implies something at least.

What sort of details? That's...kind of creepy.

ETA: I'm still sorting through the dialogue so I haven't heard it all. But sitting down and hearing some of the Cassandra/Varric banter, I'm still surprised by the amount of vitriol Varric has toward Cassandra at the beginning. I'm not sure where that comes from TBH. I mean, I get not wanting to be interrogated. But, to my memory, Cassandra never did anything evil to him in DA2 besides yell (and stab books) and even toward the end of DA2 she stops being so hard.

And then at the beginning of DA:I he kinda acts like she tortured him or something.

You are so right about it! Funny enough, I didn't really like this movie too much back then, but maybe I'll look at it differently after this fanfic has come to an end. Hopefully there won't be flying clay, though .

It's set after the game, and there's an original plot (yay!), with Cassandra tracking down some of the Promisers. It's in progress, but is being updated regularly. A lot of the story is told via letters to and from the main characters, which I think is an unusual (albeit awesome) conceit you don't see much of anymore.

So what kind of odds do I get with my guesses? It's probably something else entirely, so I'm thinking maybe 3:1 or 4:1.

Varric is a proper Dwarf, he knows how to hold a good grudge . He really did not liked to be kidnapped, manhandled(manhandled by Cassandra... now there's a thought )  interogated and being dragged out of Kirkwall.

I can't wait to catch up to everyone in Rest in the warmest places. I'm only on chapter 4 & I love what I read so far. Still Its hard to be a gentleman is still my favorite fic of the pairing so far (sorry I'm biased). After work tomorrow I'll catch up and join in on the discussion.

Also I just love it whenever Leliana pops up in these fics. It just makes me so happy!

Hey, bias isn't always a bad thing. Even though the characters are the same, every author writes differently, and interpret the characters differently, and some just resonate more with us than others.

My favorite fic is usually whatever one has been updated that day.

They kissed, thank the maker they kissed (again). I love how when their lips touched and it wasn't enough. How his hand in her hair just wasn't enough. When their tongues clashed with each other, it wasn't enough. Rip her clothes off already Varric! Show her how a paragon if manliness takes care of his woman.

All this Tethaghast stuff is really making me not want to romance Cassandra now lol.
