What happened between them? I've got 5 bucks on sex, and my bonus answer is that she's actually pregnant. It would kind of be clever in that "the reader never saw it coming" way.

So what kind of odds do I get with my guesses? It's probably something else entirely, so I'm thinking maybe 3:1 or 4:1.

I wish they have had (was that the correct tense? English grammar lessons were a loooong time ago) sex! I guess something happend after this certain game of Wicked Grace. In one of those chapters Cassandra didn't want to think about it. Actually, I think it was rather some sort of confession/heated kisses, that's my guess The last chapter implies she left without saying goodbye, too look for a seeker... Probably broke Varric's heart, too. *sigh*
 
I don't think Cass is pregnant because the story takes place in October, and both left Skyhold in January. Not sure if she even could become pregnant? But a grumpy Cassandra with child would be fun to read about .

 
Just don't ask how long it took me to actually draw out a timeline on a piece of paper, lol. I don't think your guess is further off than mine.

 

@Zerioc: This chapter of It's Heard Being A Gentleman was great, right? But I start to think that couples-to-be just should get nowhere near Cullen's office .

They kissed, thank the maker they kissed (again). I love how when their lips touched and it wasn't enough. How his hand in her hair just wasn't enough. When their tongues clashed with each other, it wasn't enough. Rip her clothes off already Varric! Show her how a paragon if manliness takes care of his woman.

All this Tethaghast stuff is really making me not want to romance Cassandra now lol.

goodgirl: Thanks for working out the dates on a piece of paper.  I didn't actually do that, just kinda asked myself, "Ok, what's up with the author's emphasis on dates?"  I mean, most authors wouldn't be that specific about it, because it really wouldn't matter.  That's just how I came up with the idea I did, because it was the only way I could make head or tail of why it was so important.

 

But now that you've worked it out, it seems my idea is pretty much impossible, so....dunno. 

 

Your idea, or AWTEW's idea seem equally likely.

I don't think she is pregnant. I think Varric said or did something to frighten her. They probably kissed and that opened the floodgates. While Varric was able to admit his feelings, Cassandra is still unsure. That I my guess on the matter

I'd just like to thank all of you who have read my fic. I initially thought I was just doing this for myself, but reading some of the comments on here I am really humbled that some of you enjoy it. I can only hope I can continue to do it justice (or, if not justice--I don't flatter myself that I am that good--at least for it to be something some of you continue to enjoy.)

Elizabeth-thanks to you especially for creating this topic, and for everyone who has left their thoughts about it here or at ff.net. It's always nice to know there's somebody on the other end of the line, so to speak.

I've never taken a writing class or have written very much, so I'm not sure I'm even cognizant of all the flaws in my work, so again I'm just humbled a number of you like it and it hasn't been ripped to total shreds (but if you think something is really bad or OOC, as always let me know.)

I'll stop now, but thanks again. I always like to check in here for the wonderful art and the links to other great fics.

ok! I don't have any really definitive thoughts, lol, but I do agree with the poster who said the calendar and the specific dates need to be reconciled with whatever the theory is. It's far too much work for an author to go to all that trouble without it meaning something important. Unfortunately, what that something is I don't know yet...

rda, I was just so frustrated that I couldn't put everything in an chronological order with the letters of Rest in the Warmest Places in my head. I had to put in down on a piece of paper . Let's see how complicated it gets, maybe I'll try and take a pic of my scribblings.

I don't know why she couldn't get pregnant. Whatever age you think Cass is, absent extenuating medical circumstances, she should still be able to. She's not that old. And Gaider confirmed a long time ago that half humans/half dwarves are definitely possible, just subject to that fact that dwarves in general have low fertility--which is speculated to be due to their proximity to darkspawn--which would not be an issue for Varric since he's been on the surface. And this is probably a lot more thought than anyone should put into this...

And you're right, Cullen's office seems to be a hotbed for romance.

@ Chronoid: I haven't actually entered the Cass thread, but I've seen refugees *from* it in other threads. lol I don't think I want to go in there. I can discuss my love of Cassandra here and in other threads, I guess. A pairing appreciation thread is often a character appreciation thread by default, after all.

 

EDIT: Outta curiosity, would anyone happen to have a link to or be able to make a vid with just the Dorian banter I'm highlighting in the OP in it, instead of the hours long vid? Preferably the version that has Cass add her "I'm right here." line into it.

 

And maybe a link to a video of Cass and Varric's banter, while we're at it?

 

ALSO can you believe I only just noticed that the thumbnail on the vid I am currently linking in the OP has Cass and Varric highlighted cus its showing a shot of when their banter is firing? The thing is 5.5 hours long. Of all the shots youtube or the maker of the video could have picked... Figure the odds. lol
