Lol. I think imagining that will make Cassandra romancers want to rip out all that thick, silky chest hair.
It's just never gonna happen. So I'm OK ![]()

Varric already said he doesn't date humans. Did everyone forget about DA:2? ![]()
To all those coming in here just to tell those of us who like this idea "No.", we get it. You lack the imagination and/or inclination necessary for this pairing. Message received. Please stop clogging the thread. Thanks. ![]()
Cassandra would obviously be the exception that proves the rule.
I support this but I'm afraid my endorsement is not very helpful as I have been informed that all my Dragon Age ships are "terrible" and I have "no taste" and am a "bad person." All those things are correct.
I doubt ALL your ships are like that. You support this one. You clearly have taste. ![]()
she wasnt trying to catch him in that scene because he lied about hawke *wink wink*
Ship contact Confirmed! lol

So now people can't even talk? What's wrong with a little dissent? This was funny enough pre-release, but let people have their game now. It's already been over a month out. It's decided who she romances.. if anyone. And it takes more effort than Varric will put it in, for sure. lol. You might think people are rude, but it's just as rude to keep insisting on something else.
This is just as bad as Cullen/Dorian.... but its crackshipping

But how can this be? Don't you ship Blackwall/Dorian and Iron Bull/Fenris?! Those are the best pairings!
Not asking for or expecting canon Varric/Cass, it's all just a bit of fun.
As long as I can join in the fun.

It's fun until you tell people they shouldn't even speak in a public thread.

Shrug I'm content to ignore people but if I had started a thread for people to talk about the pairing in a light hearted and fun way and half the posts were people just going "No", id be irritated. There are plenty of other threads to post in. If there was a thread for a pairing I didn't like, I'd ignore it unless I wanted to have a dialogue with the people in there, not just shove my disapproval there like it mattered. I mean it's not hurting anyone, is it? It's not offensive? I mean if someone has serious objections to it and expresses that in some way besides "lol no" that's different.
Anyway, I think its a fun pairing. I pretty much am into any noncanon pairing because I view it as a fun way to think about how characters who maybe don't interact as much find common ground, or how they'd deal with a new level of intimacy, or whatever.
Nothing wrong with thinking it's funny. People are allowed to say it's not going to work though too. It's not a private board. That's a little too bossy, for my tastes.
If you want serious objections. To me, it's not even healthy. Not even on a bickering couple level. I know only a handful of people I'd call "conniving little shits" and vocally express annoyance at. I wouldn't date any of them. Also, that scene is heart wrenching in a way afterwards... where Cass is really hurt at how stupid she feels. And she says she doesn't even think she deserves to be in the Inquisition. And as fans, you all know her greatest fear is not protecting people enough. She feels like she failed people by not explaining why she needed Hawke. This conflict between Varric was supposed to be serious (at least at times).
Cassandra wants Varric. It's clear as day.
She doesn't exactly say no to the Idea... ![]()

Well, yeah. But things kinda level out after that. That's the scene where their conflict is at it's worst, and you do feel for both of them. But after that, I feel like they can start to repair the damage. I'm not saying that they'll end up lovers or bffs, it's probably too late for that. But they would make a great team if they could just let their old grudges go. They have a lot in common, both are very loyal and they go out of their way to help people even if it means breaking a few rules or stepping on someones toes. Not to mention their love of smutty literature!

Yeah!.. I'm not saying it doesn't improve. They make cool friends. There's just a good deal of drama here. It's not all meant to be comedic. I was really touched to see such a strong character feel so worthless in that moment: And I partly blame Varric.
But anyways, I'll get out of everyone's hair. That's all I can say. ![]()
This thread is just wrong, but also hilarious, just like hearing Cassandra's and Varric's banter.
