Varric/Cassandra is a must have in my squad. They're the most interesting and their dialogues is either enlightening or funny.

I guess what I'm saying in my meandering way is that you take a few chances, and that's cool. Most fanfics I read, I can tell within the first few chapters where it's going and how it's going to end. I mean, I enjoy the journey, but I'm not surprised. I still don't know with your fic if it's going to end happily or sadly which is nice.
(ETA: well, not "nice" if you have them break up or die or something. Just the ability to be surprised is nice. Seriously, they live happily ever after. Right? Right??)
Also, I don't know if you saw my discussion before, but count me as a Loghain/Hawke person now. It's not a traditional relationship, but I think it's totally awesome and screw the person who said they didn't like it.
I would have to have written the thing ahead of time to know if it was going to end well or not. I can be bribed, however....
No seriously, I am so not a writer but one thing I learned is that if I do something like this again I should probably write it ahead of time and then post the chapters rather than make stuff up as I go....

Hey there, I don't post often here(my bad because the company is nice) but I do read most of what you guys linked ( this pair grows on you
). And I like your story, and the relationship Loghain and Hawke have, they both have loved and lost and done great and terrible things and know by now that happy endings are probably not coming their way, so their bonding makes a lot of sens.
And your story have something that a lot of fics and even "proper" book miss. At some point the hero has to fail (in the sens of doing something non heroic), so he/she can be more human abd overcome it so he/she can become a hero again. That is my feeling anyway, I like my heroes to fail, I don't have time for semi-gods riding shiny steeds
So kudos for that.

Yeas, the people here are very nice; this forum is actually one of the few reasons I come back to the boards anymore on a semi- daily basis right now since I beat the game. I actually played a male inquisitor who romanced Cassandra and I don't think I could ever do that again because now I can't imagine Cass with anyone besides Varric.
I think the average niceness level and intelligence level on this forum is actually way higher than most of the rest of the boards. Both would probably be higher if *I* didn't post, but every village has to have its resident idiot and crank.
But yeah, this topic is pretty much solely responsible for me shipping this pairing as hard as I do. And, this pairing is responsible for some pretty awesome fanfic and art so another win there.
Yeah, pretty much the same here.. My first play through was female elf who romanced solas, then a male human who romanced cass...and after derpy face' i love u' moment..I can't take it seriously anymore.

Being honest, I actually made my account here in the forums just for the sake of contributing to this thread. Now I check the forum on the daily basis just to post here. ;; But I'm happy about it, cause I never got to talk to people about my ships before, and just reblogging things in tumblr and typing in all-caps in the tags is actually kind of sad now that I think about it.

And yes I was actually planning to have a second playthrough with a male inquisitor just to romance Cassandra and now I can't bring myself to do it because of this ship. ;;;;
I was on the fence about making a male inquisitor for Cass or for Josie back when I first started planning one out. But then Cassaric occurred to me. Its safe to say I'll be experiencing Josie's disney romance firsthand with my first m!inquisitor.
My favorite party make up in my 1st (and only, so far) playthrough is my Lavellan, Solas, Cassandra, and Varric. With the addition of this ship, it basically turns the first third/half of my game into a very long series of double dates. I find no end of amusement in this. lol

Why, why do people update only on Monday? We need to get these authors on a schedule so we have fic all week round. Or get more people writing...I have no talent, but I can give out cookies to serve as bribes. Dear maker real life sucks but I finally have a chance to join the discussion (I've been dying to do so for the past few days lol). I have yet t post my review for the latest episode for Its hard to be a gentleman but I'll do that after I put in my two cents here. The Varric & Hawke argument reminded me of an argument I had with my roommate this time last year. While it wasn't about the same topic one of us....or more should I say both of us had the same reaction Hawke did. The last people you would ever expect to hurt you are the ones closest to you. The damage that can be inflicted can be severe & sometimes you may never recover from it. Varric's defensiveness isn't surprising since you either close yourself down or go on the complete offensive, sadly he did the later. Now I feel that they may never recover but on the bright side he confessed his feelings to Cassandra.
The relationship that Vivian & Loghain have is beautiful, truly. Like it was stated in a previous chapter it isn't sexual but there is a strong bond & trust, sometimes that is enough. The stoic Warden having his watchful guardian safeguarding his dreams. With how you build up both Hawke & Loghain I'm not sure if I even want to read the inevitable chapter with the.....you know what. I can't handle those type of feels lol. RDA also made a good point about how you made the characters unpredictable. If this fic was bad none of us would be reading it let alone discussing it. Honestly I thought they would have assaulted the grey warden fortress by now & Cassandra would e comforting Varric but sweet andraste I was wrong, so very wrong. I can't wait for the next chapter & no matter how busy I get IRL I'll stop everything to read the next chapter.
