Yeah, it was cute. It's just the second chapter that threw me for a loop. I was expecting more Varric/Cass fluff, and instead....a Leliana/Cullen/Josephine threesome relationship.

Oh yes! Lol. Never had that on the radar. Don't even ship it but I read it and I think it was still sweet and well written.

 

Yeah, you could be right about the different reactions. I'm anything but faithful, so it's not easy for me to really relate when it comes to this but she really seems to get a lot of strength from her belief.

Never said I was expecting THIS to happen in the kidfic. Hoo boy. Is it odd if I say I'm rather invested in it? I find that it's handing everything rather well, insofar as you can do such a thing. It's very easy to slip into melodrama, and I think the authors are doing a good job of avoiding that, so far. In their writing, anyways. The language is expressive without being overwrought. 

 

I have to admit I liked the way the last chapter played out? A quirk of fate, one decision that might not have been a bad one but turned out terribly (after all, they could've gone to the Storm Coast and met nothing more menacing than a nug).

Nah, I can't restore it, but it was just a rant.  I don't think you missed much unless you really appreciate long-winded opinions about things having nothing to do with Cass and Varric.

Which is not to be take as a bad thing. I love Clark Gregg, but suddenly thinking of him playing Varric makes me smile.

Hunter wrote a story for my prompt a couple of days ago (sorry that it took so long for me to link it here!) and you can find it here: The Kiss. Thank you so much ! It's sad as hell, but as well written as usually .

It was really sad that not even with Cassandra's begging, Varric wouldn't stay for one night *sigh*. Makes me wanna shout "10 years and you still love each other? abdicate now! elope now! you idiots, the world will keep spinning without you sticking to the rules!"  Especially since the game hints at Varric bending the law although I haven't finished it yet and don't know if there is a character development in this regard.

 

It's also a tragedy that Varric is with Cass just as far as he was with Bianca. Waiting for years and no chance for happiness. Maybe even worse because you've hinted at that they have been happy in Skyhold, so he just got his heart broken all over again by another woman tied into duty.

 

I love how you've woven in Cassandra's traits, like the ugh and the glares !

 

But you've made a point with the side story of the heresy. That was pretty clever. because so the reader knows if Cass just leaves her duties, people will be burned for basically nothing. Or what we consider nothing nowadays.

 

Good thing that you usually have some sort of open ending in your shorter fics, so, in my small headcanon to your fic, I allow Cass to abdicate a few months later and just vanish, all of it carefully concerted by Leliana. The rest of the world can speculate if she did it voluntarily or not, if she was killed or not. She just shows up at the Hanged Man one night and after a few days of passionate lovemaking (hehe), they will go to Ferelden where nobody will know them, get a small house, have cats, chicken and goats, and live there happily ever after .

I have to admit that I was a bit confused with the colours because that's not what I would associate them with at first sight. And I truly love pinks and violets and stuff in real life! But the longer I look at the pic, the more I like the contradiction in my head . It surely is well done!

I had NO IDEA someone had drawn fan art of Suite Romance. I had to go sit down. I never even wanted to hope someone would like my writing enough to draw fan art of it AND NOW IT HAPPENED. I do not know how to react. I am just so freaking thrilled.

I loved how you described how they figured out their attraction to each other. The narrative causality is wonderful, can't wait for the next chapter with hopefully wet and clingy clothes . And the inevitable argument who's first getting into the tub to warm up, lol.

 

This picture by hpneedsmorecoffee is so sensual (but still SFW ), I like it a lot. The thought of Cassandra wearing Varric's shirt is just so appealing! Go and check their tumblr, there's great artwork!

I liked this story How to Write a Love Story, but only Chapter 1, lol. The second one ends with major character death, so I refused to read it properly and only skimmed over it .
