So I spent half of the games, and a decent amount of side quests, to raise my army so that we can finally stop the big bad guy. From the quanaris, mages, chantry, grey wardens, etc. And what happens towards the end? They are just used for nothing. All that happens is in the mission when you go to the temple you see a few of them fighting and you have a chance to help some. Before that you get an awesome cut scene of everyone getting ready. Awesome right? NO. Seriously unless i missed something ,which correct me kindly if I have, I have not seen them trying to help at all. Not like in DA:O where the final boss you can summon swarms of your allies to help. What was the point in gathering your forces when all that happens is at the end you and your choice of 3 companions get swept into the sky? Anyone have any opinions on this?

How dare you betray the guys you shared drinks with for some big horned dudes that would like to see you leashed to the Qun as proper dog!?

Developing your army gains more power and experience for your character.

Its just a way of doing things. It could have been anything. Assembling a strong army is something most people can relate to. You develope through this chosen process.

But, yeah, for such an epic game (time-wise if you do all the quests and enjoy all the sights), the ending was very ho-hum.  Yay.. another demon fight for me and my three companions except this one taunts me... wow.

I'm surprised you didn't notice that it's really more of a clone army. Most of my soldiers seem to have the same face. I suppose I should make sure they aren't getting any secret orders.

I'm also curious as to where my army makes camp, where the food comes from to feed them, and why I can't make some serious improvements to their gear?

Also what happens when a enemy casually walks into the camp, because I know at low lvls i just sneaked by monsters and set up camp with them still being around.

We don't get to use the army towards the end of the game?

No, as they said it is just for power and for your image. You see them around skyhold, but as far as fighting along side them like they say most of the time. Eh...

One of the characters says something about camps of your troops outside of skyhold. so i guess your army is just sitting in tents on that frozen lake/river and road. except for the fact when ever you go on the wall you can't see them.

yeah, I was furious when before the last quest Cullen told me "oh Im sorry but our whole army haven't come back from the last mission". WTF? no soldiers in skyhold, really? How have I managed to come back and they not? This was stupid and lame.

Exactly, mean while you had to go back to the forest and slay a dragon then come back to skyhold.

Just wait, fanfiction will cure this, I'm sure...mostly because I'll be writing it. :P

At least they're semi-present in several occassions? Adamant, Emprise De Lyons, temple of Mythal, heck a whole bunch of missions at the war table is resolved by soldiers and whatever other forces you have recruited.

I'm not sure why you're surprised, the allies you gather don't play much of a role in the final battle in ME3 either... :)

Would have been fun if they had been though, I admit, if only by changing some cinematics. :)

btw if you let Morrigan to drink from the well, you won't have to slay a dragon

Clone army camped out on a frozen river. Well that certainly sounds safe.

at least they could have shown us some epic cutscenes with lots of soldiers like it was f.e. in the origins. It would've been great to see I think.

I barely did war table missions because I did not understand them sense they seem to not matter that much, if it was a new place ok! If if was some stupid thing like getting a letter sent for someone, no thanks.

It's not that unreasonable. You have horses, the infantry does not. You probably rode ahead of the main force.  Yeah, it's disapointing that you don't see more than an indication of your troops and allies being at the battle before the end, but most people's computers would seize up with a real battle scene.

The Inquisitor decided to wait until the frozen river thawed enough to allow workers to divert much of the flow. The once great flowing tide of water the surrounded Skyhold has been thinned and new lands were raised. A new city was built, to house the forces of the Inquisition.

Yeah, it was very dissapointing. Should have took inspiration from games like Suikoden. Add some mini games withtin Skyhold or maybe expand the roles of those you recruit.
