yeah, I was furious when before the last quest Cullen told me "oh Im sorry but our whole army haven't come back from the last mission". WTF? no soldiers in skyhold, really? How have I managed to come back and they not? This was stupid and lame.

I know how dare your army not use the magic mirror to instantly travel across half the continent in the blink of an eye just because they don't have the key, have any idea how to use it, or feel like fighting through Corypheus to get to it. Travelling by foot while transporting all of the army's equipment? They should all just be fired because they don't understand how to travel to a demi-plane while carrying 40 suits of armor in hammer space. The incompetence that the Inquisitor has to deal with...:P

Wait you got Qunari...that means that chargers...you MONSTER!

How dare you betray the guys you shared drinks with for some big horned dudes that would like to see you leashed to the Qun as proper dog!?

If you were at war, would you rather have 6 guys by your side or the CIA and US navy?

The army was used for that mission with Morrigan, the well mission thing. It's mentioned that your army fought against Corypheus' demons, we just don't get to see it.

Seeing how they hoisted you up in the sky away from everything they could of done some good cinema of you leading your army to squash Cory, but then get divided and thrown into the sky.

I was upset that the majority of your forces' actions happened off camera, with the game TELLING you what your aquired manpower was doing rather than SHOWING you.

I was really upset that all of the possible allies you can recruit doesn't have any impact in the Inquisition's army make up. Everyone is the same character model wearing the same hood/cloak armor.

In DA:O I could SEE my force of Werewolves, and Golems, working with my Mages, and Ferelden troops. In DA:I the game TOLD me I had Mages working with my Grey Warden and Qunari allies.

I would've loved an army vs army cutscene at the end, just like the Battle of Denerim.

But what's done is done.

I suspected that all those hours of building up my forces wouldn't mean much in the end, but it was my first playthrough and I wanted to do everything. In future playthroughs, I will skip as many of those missions as I can.

I agree with most people here in regards to seeing your power in action, rather reading about it. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we get a big battle type of thing in a DLC. I also bet a lot of stuff got cut while in development. It's all about where they needed to put their priorities. Denerim was kind of underwhelming too but at least you saw some of your allies in action.

Adamant I think is the closest to that, as well as the fight in the Temple of Mythal.

As No.1 in place where I'm from we have one rule and that is don't stab in back the person you shared your drinks with!

Besides I lose nothing at leaving Qunari to die :P as No.2

So I spent half of the games, and a decent amount of side quests, to raise my army so that we can finally stop the big bad guy. From the quanaris, mages, chantry, grey wardens, etc. And what happens towards the end? They are just used for nothing. All that happens is in the mission when you go to the temple you see a few of them fighting and you have a chance to help some. Before that you get an awesome cut scene of everyone getting ready. Awesome right? NO. Seriously unless i missed something ,which correct me kindly if I have, I have not seen them trying to help at all. Not like in DA:O where the final boss you can summon swarms of your allies to help. What was the point in gathering your forces when all that happens is at the end you and your choice of 3 companions get swept into the sky? Anyone have any opinions on this?

After Priority: Earth I'm not surprised to be honest.

I'm actually curious at has anyone romanced IB while having chargers die.I mean is there something different, does something happen, does creepy Qunari stuff happen that is? I know that having Qunari/Chargers doesn't actually affect anything besides IB's fate and little personality shift but is there something that really affects your romance with him?

Your big army must be stationed some where else. Its certainly not at Skyhold.

Ah Skyhold again. Really should be some kind of armed force there, manning the walls, walking the perimeter, hanging out in their barracks.

It's not that unreasonable. You have horses, the infantry does not. You probably rode ahead of the main force.  Yeah, it's disapointing that you don't see more than an indication of your troops and allies being at the battle before the end, but most people's computers would seize up with a real battle scene.

Then exactly WHY did I do the horses for the Inquisition quest? My army had better have a cavalry unit or two at least. I went to a lot of trouble to get those horses for them.

Overall it is is disappointing that you can't at least summon a battalion to help you out on the tougher fights, like killing dragons. I mean it'd be cool if you could blow a war horn to call a unit to come help you.

That would be the army camp down in the valley, the one you can see from the battlements.

Actually if you have the Inquisitor look out over the battlements in Skyhold down into the valley you will see the campfires and your army.

Also, the army assists in the war table missions. You don't see them, but it's heavily implied they work for Leliana, Cullen and Josie. It's not really for nothing, at least there's some sort of interaction going on, even if it's not what some people like.

That sums up this game in a nutshell: Telling and not showing.

A lot of BioWare games leave things to open interpretation, which is nothing new to me. My only gripe with this new system is that the advisers are too incompetent to select and unlock missions on their own.

Bioware hasn't confirmed any DLC for the SP DAI mode, just MP DLC. I'd like to see DLC that expands on the *underwhelming* ending to DAI, but whatever we get, if anything, it'll be exclusive to the Xbox 1 console for God knows how long before becoming available to PC and PS4.

That exclusive deal should be a week at most. I highly doubt the game is their best seller on Xbox One, so knowing EA they wouldn't want to lock any DLC for longer than two weeks at most.

While I know that saying "I actually love ME3" is a horrible heresy in this forum, if we are going to accept the "tell not show" way of storytelling, I would like to point out what ME3 did right that DAI didn't. In ME3 every single resource and every single unit of your army shows up in your pc in the Combat Information Center. You want to have an idea of what your army consists of, how it works and how much you are contributing to make it stronger? Access your pc and you can read everything, down to the most secondary and negligible detail or update. Granted, that doesn't actually matter in the end, but does it matter in DAI? Nope. In both cases, your army is "supposed" to be fighting at your side even if you don't see much of it.

The difference is that in DAI I literally have no idea of what the Inquisition army consists of. How many men do we have? How many of them are warriors, how many spies? Can I do something to improve their equipment? If I make a deal with Briala, does the number of my spies increase? If I put Gaspard on the throne, does he send me his chevaliers? And how many units? Oh so Cullen tells me we have trebuchets now. That's great. How many? And how many of my men know how to make them work?

Nothing. I know absolutely nothing of the army that's supposed to be fighting for the Inquisition. My Inquisitor acts in a bubble of ignorance.

That's actually kind of sad.

Yeah i loved that feature from ME3, it was nice to read up on the army stats and logistics. It would of been good if DAI did something similar.

Well, can't complain. They insist in giving some chests to me. That's cute.
