Unfortunatly Shield wall seems almost useless on Perilous, apart from that it really is one of my favorite skills. I feel so naked without it. You have constant maxed guard, prevent almost all kinds of damage, even Demon Commanders uppercut - if you hug a wall. It's great against brutes and Red templar commander f.ex., if you time your walls right (2 hits, wall, 2 hits, wall - it makes those enemies into guard-generators). It's also very usefull against enemies that gets stunned if you block them.

Again, it is in my experience almost useless on perilous, as on perilous blocking seems somehow completely ineffective and full guard gets completely removed by one hit from even a little mouse anyway... :((

Yep every point you made mostly covers why I enjoy Lego w shield walls. I've dumped the Lego once I started with threatening, which in my experience feels just pure punishment. Guard just melts away instantly. I've been hoping to get a Caliban, or a decent shield, and maybe I might be able to get back in threatening with a shield wall lego. Wish it were viable at all levels where higher difficulties would make enemy attacks more varied and frequent, instead of 100x magnified damage output.

Shield wall and guard works very well on threatening, especially if you go for those passives. But then again I'm pretty stacked equipmentwise, using Caliban mostly (other variations are firm tournament axe, dwarven crusher or moon axe) and Dwarven Proving Shield with HoK and crit chance ring.

But alas, not on perilous.

Hmm some tough choices. initially i liked them all but getting many more hours of play time with each has changed my tune.

My ranking for personal enjoyment is

1. Elementalist

2. Reaver

3. Assassin

4. Keeper

5. Katari

6. Alchemist

Warrior

Katari - I find this class a lot of fun. mighty blow is great for shutting down large groups and pommel strike hits shockingly hard. Once its armor gets patched I will work it back into my rotation

Reaver - This class is just fun to mess **** up with. rampage and the 5/5 boss just melts. Easily my number 2 class but the rampage bug not healing is really pissing me off. My struggle with this class is what to take for a 4th ability. The more I deal with the demon commander the more I am thinking combat roll. However, giving up the aoe fear is tough to do. it would be nice just to pop rampage, maul the demon commander, roll from his fear, maul him some more.

Templar/Legionnaire - I want to like tanks in this game but tanking in this game is so not fun for me. I loved to tank in world of warcraft but in this game so many people just zerg rush everything and do well that I feel no need to bring one.

Rogue

Assassin - Again like the reaver, it messes **** up. Chain spamming deathblows when aoe brings everyone to half hp is soooooooo satisfying. my number 3 class.

Alchemist - Poison feels like something is missing to really make it work. I do enjoy this class with the constant stealth action with poisons but with so much aoe flying around from a lot of classes it feels weak as hell. It's a shame as I find this more fun to play then the assassin but unless I am copying the assassin, it typically isn't as powerful.

Mage

- Elementalist - Hands down my favorite class. I use upgraded immolate/stone fist/fire wall, and meteor storm. Fire wall is extremely underrated and I use the hell out of it with this class. There  are classes who get bonuses for panicked enemies and its cc with a nasty dot. It doesn't need the upgrade, but I have 4 left over points at the end so eh what the hell. Upgraded stonefist is amazing with the knockdown and the 600-1500 aoe damage it does. The class just feels really god dam powerful. It is extremely fun to play

- Keeper - Veil strike, chain lightning, static cage, and barrier give this class a ton of cc that synergizes really well with a lot of classes. This is the class I play when I just want to kick back and chill. It's extremely easy to do a very good job with support. Not to mention static cage can melt bosses with faster attacking classes. SC is way too under used imo.

The way I am playing is I play my elementalist to 20 then promote while working on 2500 fire kills. Then I go to the archer for bow kills and get them to 20 and promote. Then I do reaver to 20 for great axes and promote. Then I restart with the elementalist and repeat the cycle. It gives me a good mix of promote stats and mixes up the play styles to keep the game from getting boring.

Once fire damage is 2500 i will switch back to the  keeper and work on lightning while using a frost staff. Also when archer gets to 2500 bow kills then I will swap the archer from the rotation for the alc/ass

Assassin, lego and Reaver.

I like all the classes except the arcane warrior because he is so boring.

fav rouge - Hunter

My favorite is by Covergirl, gives me a nice rosy glow.

These are the classes i like best, not really in order:

1. Archer: it's fun to see big crits and damage, even if their survivability is sucky. The quintessential glass cannon; you better blow up that demon heading your way before it gets to you or you're sol.

2. Elementalist: big aoe damage, good cc, great survivability, and also able to help teammates via barrier? amazing.

3. Legionnaire: i never play tanks in games, but i needed to promote one in order gain more constitution for other classes so started him, and now i think it's moving up as possibly my favorite class. When i first started playing multiplayer, i always hated how every single class seemed squishy when you got focused on, even if you were able to cast barrier (it would eventually be broken and would be on cooldown so you were basically sol). Legionnaire is the only class i've played that can hold their own when you have a boss and/or a whole roomful of mobs beating on you.

First let me say I hate the AW.

Favorites:

  1. Keeper
  2. Alchemist
  3. Templar
  4. Hunter

I want to love the Reaver, but she's broken.  :( And the Legionnaire is too difficult for me sometimes, I get frustrated.

Keeper is arguably cooler than the original Spirit Healer from Origins. Alchemist takes me back to the Paragon of Her Kind days. Templar is a really great, new and interesting way to play a warrior. Hunter is a nasty mofo with that Griffon bow.

Necro I'm still warming up to, but I'm licking my wound about Spirit Mark still.

Favorite Warrior: Legionnaire. Reaver is a lot of fun as well, but I just love how reliable the Lego is. It gives me great satisfaction to draw all the aggro away from my teammates so they can just relax and kill stuff while I face tank everything.

Favorite Mage: Keeper, with the Necromancer as a very close second. I love exploding everything with Walking Bomb and hearing those delicious squishy sounds of chunks of meat popping everywhere, but the Keeper allows me to play fairly aggressively while keeping my teammates' asses safe at the same time. Priceless.

Favorite Rogue: this is a difficult one, as I'm pretty **** with all rogues for some reason (most likely less than stellar situational awareness at times). Probably the Assassin though. One-hit kill almost everything and then just disappear in a puff of smoke? Yes please.

Thats weird. When I play legionnaire it kinda reminds of driving a car. It's that easy. Probably the easiest class to play imo. You go in, tank everything and continue. With the right build he is invincible.
