I'm just glad we can finally play Grim Fandango again. I never got around to finishing it back in the day and it's impossible to play on modern machines without having to fuss around with all sorts of nonense, and also... it's hard to get your hands on the actual game.

Now Tim Schäfer should stop fussing around with the financial stuff which he's proven he's no good at and make Psychonauts 2 :D

We'll see Half Life 3 before Psychonauts 2. :/

I might have to check it out then, last time I really paid any attention to it was E3, but it didn't grab my attention too much. I was waiting on that sweet, sweet Bioware conference.

I embedded a pretty good gameplay demo of it in the OP.

In no particular order:

MGS V The Phantom Pain

No Man's Sky

Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae

Star Citizen's Squadron 42 single-player module

Mass Effect 4

Honorable mentions include just-about-any Ubisoft single-player AAA game, the possible (MAYBE) Final Fantasy XII HD port (if it comes to PC), Battlefront 3, Wild Hunt.

Really, the only game I could say I'm really hyped for is FF XV. The others are definite day-one purchases but I don't get that feeling welling up in my chest like I do with XV.

I suggest playing the other games if you want this one's story to make sense.

Final Fantasy XII HD port (if it comes to PC),

This is the only Final Fantasy I'm actually somewhat intrigued by, at least in accordance to what I've heard from a fellow JRPG friend of mine. So an HD remake is interesting -- Hopefully it'll release for the Vita, as that one deserves some good ones.

EDIT: In fact, I should inform him that an HD remaster of this game might be in the workings. If this is true?

No Man's Sky- I THINK it's coming out this year, at least.

It is, Murray made a comment I think on PS blog or something saying "here's to 2015, the year when No Man's Sky comes out!"

5. FFXV(????)

It's looking like 2016.

The Witcher 3

No Man's Sky (hopefully)

FFXV

Star Wars Battlefront 3

Not a release of the full game, but I'll put SC2: Legacy of the Void beta on there as well.

Flipping back button on my mouse keeps sending me back, I wish this forum saved drafts. Anyway, I have Ground Zeroes and I've read up on the history.

XII is a very political story with DA-like combat and one of the most open leveling systems I've seen for an FF game.

I love FF XIII, but I see this game, XII, and really in many ways it's much better, especially for a 2D game's switch to 3D. So much larger.

I'm not really looking forward to anything. Its great. No agonizing waiting. Though I guess I'm curious to see if The Order 1886 sucks or not.

There's a saying amongst farmers...

What would a farmer do with a million dollars? He'd farm until he was broke again.

The same can be said of good game developers - making good games all too often leads to being in the broke house.

Yes, the protagonist however is incredibly annoying, from what I've gathered, and he basically loses all relevance half way through, but I've heard a lot of good things about the game itself and Balthier seems to hug all the good characterization for himself. Perhaps that's enough, I'll see for myself in the future.

Anyway, MGS has so much lore that it's hard to follow, by merely reading it. The games have a lot of incredibe details, and trivia, that aren't necessarily laid out in the main plot, a lot of conversation and dialogue with your support members are optional in previous games.. Anyway, I humbly suggest playing the other games as well in the future. Just saying.

That saying seems out of date. LOL. What with fewer farmers than ever before with those farmers owing more land than ever. And owning many millions of dollars worth of equipment.

Well blame the other person who put FFXV in there thing I was just going off of that.

Although as for my turn I would say that XII HD remaster probably won't happen... it's more of just random rumors and stuff as far as I know.

I didn't think he was really incredibly annoying... mostly (as I was explaining on a different thread) it's a Yasumi Matsuno game which means there are a lot of heavy politics and political intrigue like in Final Fantasy Tactics, Vagrant Story, etc. I sunk bazillions of hours in those games and was excited for XII. However, he left halfway through the game and I think it kind of shows.

At the same time, on balance it was more enjoyable than most games I played that year, by the standards of pretty much most games I'd say it was pretty fun. Honestly if you like Balthier you should be fine because it seems like he had a much bigger role than I'm guessing originally intended. He's more of a typical anime cool guy character whereas I think the rest of XII was supposed to revolve more around Basch. That said, it was not nearly as cool as FFT or Tactics Ogre: LUCT, IMO.

A better idea might just be downloading Crimson Shroud for the 3ds (it's like 3 dollars). It's a Matsuno game through and through and if you don't like the style there, probably shouldn't bother with XII. If you want more though...

It will be an amazing year!

1. Witcher 3

2. Persona 5

3. Metal Gear Solid 5

4. Batman Arkham Knight

5. Bloodborne

IF Final Fantasy releases in 2015, it will take the 2nd spot.

Yeah from what I heard Basch was supposed to be the protag, but they changed it to Vaan because he was younger.

And I will if they ever release them on PC.

Really? It's been three years. They've had plenty of time.

I really hope Shadow Realms isn't their 2015 release.

Fair enough.

I doubt it will too, honestly, but it would be really nice. They need a game for 2015.

We know more about Shadow Realms than ME4. 2015 was also the intended release for that game, according to when I last read about the game.

Granted, knowing more about it than the next mass effect game says very little, but still.

Not exactly sure what you mean by that. They're plenty of farmers that own thousands of acres of land, actual farmers not suits (though that is a thing). My point was that the small scale farmer that used to be prevalent is going extinct and the few that remain usually have full time jobs outside of farming on top of that.

But anyways this is a crazy tangent, I just thought it was amusing how times can and do change.

Then you're the first I've met who think so. I know he's incredibly annoying in Dissidia, which is just as well, because from what I've seen of the game he's same as in that spin-off. He also seemingly loses all relevance to the plot, and any sense of character progression, halfway through and is basically just "there for the ride". Balthier seems to carry an actual arc to his character, unlike Vaan, thus he feels more like a protaognist.. Disregarding that, it's not really the characters that has me intrigued about the game (or anything by Square post-their union with Enix), it's everything else.

The next JRPG I'll be investing in will mostly likely be Nocturne & Xenoblade, when I finishrunning thorugh Devil Saga again. Then there are a few others I'll get once I've finished shopping for the Wii-U.

It's happening, Bungie confirmed it. Though it still hasn't announced a release date.
