I would like to hear your theories, I mean not just what is shown in the game, what you think would happen if he is on the throne for many years  /and Celene is dead/. I supported Celene because he seemed to unstable and self-praising but I sometimes think I made a wrong choice. They said he is not fit to be Emperor and that his place is in the army as a general /in some dialogues/ but I am not so sure.

I think I will let him rule this time because I want to see how it impacts Briala

If you dont give her he blackmail she is dead, if you give her the black mail she became the real power in Orlais

I think he'd be the most efficient of the three possible leaders, simply because he's willing to actually act instead of trying to appease the corrupt nobility or be sidetracked by a bitter forbidden romance. If I'm not wrong, he actually pledges further support to the Inquisition even after Corypheus is defeated whereas Celene turns her back on the organisation.

I think its dependent of court approval, if its low Celene turns her back, if its high she still support the Inquisition. Unlessyou make the truce, if you make the truce Celene can only hold the power with your help, so she dont turn her back.

I made the truce. She banned Briala and still rules but it's not strong. Lol maybe in future games we can take Orlais

Celene will still support the Inquisition if court approval is high regardless of if there are threats. Here's the endings where she executed Gaspard and Briala and where she and Briala are reconciled:

Gaspard in his epilogue is shown to be a strong and capable leader who aids the Inquisition. If the wartable mission is completed with Ferelden, he pulls troops away from that border and to the one with Tevinter

If Celene executes Briala and Gaspard, she makes Orlais prosperous and Orlais soon returns to its former status before the war. If Celene and Briala are reconciled, elves get more rights and Celene makes Orlais resurgent which culture and the arts being supported.

How do I get Celene and Briala to reconcile?

There is a halla statue door in the guest wing building of the servant's quarter. Inside there is an elven locket. Show it to Celene's handmaidens in the Grand Ballroom (then talk with Celene about her feelings for Briala) and Briala on the balcony just outside the Grand Ballroom. Use the evidence against Gaspard to support Briala when it is all said and done. Eventually, an option will pop up to try to reunite them (you also need a high court approval rating, over 85 I think).

As for Gaspard, he will probably drive Orlais into another useless war.

It's dependent on if you do the war table mission of negotiations between Orlais and Fereldan.

It's funny you mention that since the outcome of Celene's continued reign could go in any direction based on the PC's choices, just like Gaspard.

That's something the haters are keen to forget.

How is it wrong if Gaspard himself outright says he's going to war?

Pity that Gaspard & Briala can't work together without her blackmailing Gaspard. I want a military power with elven spy support.

Yeah but Thedas is better off without a strong Orlais.

I suppose that's true if you're a fan of the Qun.

Can you put Gaspard on throne without killing Celene?

Gaspard never says that. He says he prefers war to politics because politics is muddy, while war is absolute. He's perfectly willing to be peaceful, and keep his word about it.

He's the best choice for Orlais because I feel like it's the only way to weaken the influence of The Game

No. If Celene remains alive, she stays on the throne. You don't have to kill Gaspard or Briala, but she stays on the throne.

Pitty, I never can make myself kill Celene.

For Orlais to have a relative stability you need to have an unopposed ruler, be it Gaspard or Celene.  Briala must go in any case, imo.

Yea Gaspard doesn't outright say he going to war with any country. He says that Orlais cant let Nevarra and Fereldan chip away at their border, which I didn't know Fereldan was doing ( I doubt they are ). He goes on to say he will make Orlais the strongest country again, and with his preference to war its implied that he will to war with someone.

You can help him settle disputes with Fereldan but I think he will go to war with Nevarra at some point becaause I believe the Nevarran retook some land from them and they hate each. He may Invade Tevinter

Gaspard must be really bored. Can't blame him. Orlais is very boring with its fashion and gossip.

My guess is that he will end up breaking the nation after one or two decades as groups against him grows and sooner or later someone manages to assassinate him and a war for the throne ensues. If there is a clear and present external danger during this time, he'll last longer
