Any thoughts on how I should spec Solas, Viv and Dorian, both in terms of skills and tactics? Just give them all Static Cage?

Just my personal preference, and I'm by no means " an expert " on builds, but after some trial and error, these work best for me

 

Solas - Spirit / Rift

 

Dorian - Fire / Necro

 

I build Solas as a Support , Dorian as CC  or DPS, depending on what character I'm playing. I never bother taking Viv anywhere since she's just annoying, so can't offer you anything for her.

I do the same. I set dorian's necro spells to preferred, and I don't take spirit mark because its too buggy for me.

ATM I'm basically (almost) maxing out the Spirit tree for everybody: Barrier, Dispel, passives, etc. This is mostly so I can take anyone I want, without having to worry that I'm leaving out the basics. Is this wise?

Dorian - Spirit/ Electricity, and a few other spells like Fade Step. He was capable at dealing damage, but died more often than the others. Necromancy might be the way to go to prevent that.

Vivienne - Spirit/ Knight Enchanter, and some other spells like Fade Step. She used Fire spells well; re-specced later to Frost.

Solas - Spirit/ Rift Mage, and some Frost spells.

Viv's AI is too incompetent to manage the KE specialization effectively.

Solas with pull of the abyss -> fire mine - > static cage upgraded is terryfing and will destroy most encounters instantly with allied support to take advantage of cage procs.

She only needs to use one active KE skill to faceroll things any way though. Get barrier, get the passives, set light saber to preferred and unleash her on the enemy hoards.
