I am wondering if anyone can give me clear, concise instructions on how to make the KOTOR head pack work as an override with the CEP installed. Without the CEP, it works fine, but after the CEP was installed quite a few of the heads don't show up correctly. I understand that Estelindis included different files to be used with the CEP, but I can't find any clear instructions on HOW to implement these. Forgive me, I am not much of a modder, (merely a player that loves to use so many of the fine mods that this excellent community has created) and so I'm unfamiliar with how to add items to a Hak and so forth. I'd also like to clarify, that for the time being, I would like to use these heads in re-playing the Original Campaign, therefore, I believe they are supposed to be placed in the override folder, but any guidance would be GREATLY appreciated.

Have you added CEP to original campaign? If not simply placing Kotor heads in override will allow you to use them in OC.

I actually should have posted back here after I found out new info. It's not the CEP that is causing the issue. It may be a problem with the head pack period, or perhaps they just don't show up right in the character creator? I can load the module that comes with the head pack, which shows all of the head options, and they look fine. But when I go to make a character and use one of the alien heads (like Bao-dur or the horned zabrak) they look all funky.

I wondered if somehow the textures weren't linking up to the right mesh, but after doing a fresh re-install (without the CEP) I still have the same issue.

My solution, which may be pretty unrefined, was to remove the head files from the folder that were causing the issues. So at least I don't have any wonky looking heads in my game...:P

What do you mean by funky? If its the texture pattern, then you have a texture somewhere that is overriding the kotr textures.

It is the texture pattern. Any idea where these textures could be coming from? Without the CEP the issue is still there and I have no other overrides in place, just the KOTOR heads one.

EDIT: Okies, I have found a workaround. Thanks to Barbarians head pack that I just installed today, wherein she explains VERY clearly how to use Hak preloading to deal with texture issues. I followed her directions only using the .plt files from the KOTOR set, made a .hak and placed it in the patch folder and tadaa! Textures are working fine...:D

I'm still unsure of where I was getting texture issues from seeing as how it happened even with the CEP not installed.

Sorry for not answering your question in time.  :)  I'm not sure why you were seeing texture oddities.  It's a long time since I worked on this pack, but I do remember testing all versions and them working at the time.

Well, I don't know what's up with my system. It may be an issue with something else I have in there. I don't think I have anything that will conflict, but I am not 100% sure...lol. But like I said, using the Hak preloading workaround, it shows the GORGEOUS heads up like they should. So I would just like to say "thank you HUGELY" for a great project and I am overjoyed that I got it to work properly. :D Right now, I am currently running modules using the Atton head, the young Kreia, the Carth head and the wonderful Bao-dur as a tiefling...:D So I really couldn't be happier!

I'm really glad that you're finding them useful!  The ultimate credit goes to Bioware and Obsidian.  I just removed some parts that NWN doesn't use and converted the textures to PLT form.  :)

Well, you did some wonderful magical things I cannot, as far as getting them ingame, and for that you will always have my gratitude. But  credit also to Bioware for some great games there (KOTOR)
