I was making a Fighter/Cleric and I was curious if there was a way to remove the -2 to you attack bonus with the tower shield. Thanks.

Maybe adjust the base items 2da?

i took a look in both baseitems and armorrulestats .2das and didn't see a -AB column

which leads me to believe it's hardcoded, which begs the question -- how does the engine know what shields to apply -2 AB to ...

a complicated workaround: to create a brand spankin' new shield-type from scratch (which is easier said than done)

Dj likely knows more, if he happens to clip-clop by

Clippety-clop, clippety-clop, clippety-clop. Whoa there, Nelly! Good girl.

No idea. Armorrulesstats.2DA maybe?

Giddy-up Nelly! Clippety-clop, clippety-clop, clippety-clop...

I thought it was bugged and didn't apply anyway?

It didn't originally. A patch fixed it.

If it is hardcoded, then it's most likely using the baseitems.2DA line number. If that's the case, then duplicating the 2DA entry and creating new blueprints that use the duplicate base item type might circumvent the attack bonus penalty.
