I have gotten Fade Touched Iron multiple times in Haven from all the iron available there. Might be a bug. Can't do any master crafting before Skyhold anyways ;)

Never seen any outside of Haven before Skyhold however.

Oh, interesting! I've never bothered to collect many materials in Haven. I noticed that human enemies weren't dropping Fade-touched cloth, when usually they drop it at a fairly good rate. After Skyhold/Dagna, they started dropping it at the pace I remembered. So much Fade-touched Lustrous Cotton from the Hinterlands...

On a previous playthrough I had a piece of Fade-touched Lambswool, which would have to drop from Rebel Templars - and they're all gone by the time you get go Skyhold. Not sure where I got it from, because neither the mages nor the templars wanted to drop any Fade-touched cloth for me this time (and I was intentionally farming them)

I've found a single Amrita Vein in the Western Approach south of Griffon Wing Keep. I may also have found one in the Exalted Plains because I had the seeds before I ever got the the Western Approach, but I'm no longer certain where I picked it up. Might have been Victory Rise.

There's a few Prophet's Laurel in the Storm Coast and a few more in the more northern parts of the Emerald Graves.

Same here. I can't remember if I picked up my fade-touched onyx in the hinterlands pre-skyhold tho.

Any word of advice where to find fade-touched silk brocade, fade-touched velveteen and fade-touched highever weave?

I got some Fade-touched Velveteen off Highwaymen in Crestwood. After you take the Keep there, they spawn much less frequently, but it's still possible to find them. :)

IIRC you get a note in your journal about how, post Whispers/Just, the rebels have 'moved on'.

It seems a bit silly that a game where the devs are imploring you to move on as quickly as possible closes down quests after certain plot points, but there it is.

Apostates in WItchwood and Templars to the West auto-close after In your Heart shall burn.

I may have the answer to that. I found that post-skyhold, I still (very occasionally) find random spawns of templars and mages fighting, even though the Apostate and Templar encampment quests will have auto-completed by that point. They'll never spawn as pure groups (trios) of templars or mages like they previously did, and even the templar/mage-battle random encounters are very rare (i've come across them twice, as opposed to literally dozens of outlaw groups and a handful of venatori groups).

Post-skyhold, these templars and mages may drop fade touched lambswool and silk. The second time I found such a templar-mage spawn in dwarfson's pass near camp, I saved and farmed the spawn repeatedly for a while. Managed 1 each of both types of fade touched silk* and 1 fade touched lambswool (2guard/hit).

That may have been where you got it from. Pre-skyhold, mages, templars and far as I can tell every other humanoid enemy will never drop fade-touched cloth.

Ghoul's Beard

A hard to find herb. There are different locations.

The first spot you probably find it is in The Western Approach in the mines close to the starter camp.

But the best spot to farm Ghoul's Beard is in The Hissing Wastes in the area called Shallow Basin not far from the Logging Camp.

Here's a couple of screens to illustrate the location. As you see there's a rock formation you can circel around. There are a total of 5 on this location close to each other. Just travel to the camp and walk 50 meters.

A few corrections:

Imperial Vestment Cotton is an extremely late-game resource you can only get in quantities in the Arbor Wilds, but Sentinel Shadows spawn infinitely on the map before you enter the Temple of Mythal, so you can farm quite a lot of it with enough patience.

.
Get the Connections perk 'The Short List' and receive 10 items. Demands a lot of influence though.

I'm going to need some sort of proof for this! :D
I have combed the Hinterlands for hours on end both pre- and post-Skyhold.
Since Skyhold, I've run into a couple Venatori (my Nemesis enemy) and a couple Outlaws (they are much rarer now that I completed Mercenary Fortress) but no mages or templars.
One thing I did discover is that if you save and reload the game in the Blood Cliffs where you fight the Ferelden Frostback dragon, low-level Red Templars will spawn, and this is the most efficient way to collect Everknit Wool. The Red Templars spawn there regardless of being your Nemesis or not.

The relevant perk for tier 3 crafting materials is actually "Only the Finest" which requires the tier 2 and tier 1 crafting materials perks (Exacting Buyers and the Rare Stocks)
You do only recieve 10 pieces of each material, however, which isn't much when you consider how many pieces you need for tier 3 armor schematics.

Yeah, I don't know why they bothered putting these in the game. Would have made more sense to have for sale o you could have used gold. Or, hell, let me trade power for them.

I started a new game to try and replicate my amazing achievement at acquiring Fade-touched Lambswool.

I've already amassed a stack each of Lambswool and Silk by mowing through endless hordes of rebel Mages and rebel Templars, but no Fade-touched cloth drops in sight. :(

I'm going to keep farming them as long as possible (which could be quite a while - I think they scale with you up to level 11 at the least) and see if my luck changes, but in my experience farming FT cloth on my high level characters, it doesn't take this long for enemies to drop a piece or two.
