And the single player too.

Lets face it, nwn was good but some of us made things that blow away a lot of the stuff bioware did.

You would start having problems like Neverwinter Online had. Players were creating "cheat" missions in the foundry to speed level and get crazy good gear super fast.

Just sayin', that's something to account for.

Perhaps for SP (though very doubtful) but it will never happen in MP.

Giving players the ability to bypass grinding or RNG in any way would run directly contrary to the business model they're using for the MP portion of the game. It would also have the potential to fracture the community, depending on the compatibility of those who used the mods vs those who don't.

Cleaned up some posts.

As for a toolset, I'd still bet against it. Frankly, expect not to get it, so that you can't get your hopes up and be disappointed if you don't get it.

A simple way to look at this is. Toolset = community contents = less DLC sales = ea will not allow it. You might say Bethesda has done it with Skyrim, but I would say Bethesda suits =/= ea suits, so the two companies are being run very differently.

Actually a toolset would mean people playing the game longer, meaning more DLC sales as people are playing. That and modders would of course use the extra things in DLC, which of course would still mean more sales.

Licensing issues are why we won't see any kind of Toolset. The tools BioWare use to create the game world simply aren't BioWare's to give away.

Either way no chance in hell that BioWare would allow user created MP content.

A room with a 1000 pots and 100 nugs spawing would be the first things created. Well maybe 1000 golden nugs and a few pots.

Modding is great for single player.  MP needs more regulation.

I agree with .... well everyone in this thread really.

A SP/MP custom toolset would be fantastic, and im sure there would be dedicated modders out there that would not only enhance the game, but also increase its lifespan. I also agree with the hacking and blah blah blah, surely these days that can go without saying ? it is 2015 already, people cheat, we all know this! :P

The toolset needs both the Community and EA/Biowares support though, maybe something along the lines of submitting mods to Bioware for approval before it becomes part of the SP/MP addons, hell ive read ideas about expanding the Multiplayer in the forums, which, seriously could add some awesome bang for buck, and as a whole on the MP side of thing, its a quite a bit lean IMO, simple things like Character Appearance Customisation could go a very long way in keeping people around for more MP, and would even be a gateway to an ever expanding universe like NWN. But it does need a degree of regulation, and this is where we need Bioware to come onboard :)

Actually if anyone from Bioware reads this, just adding 4 more buttons to MP would be fantastic too ;)

Hell, whats wrong with just unlocking more Spec trees for your current character when you unlock a different class also ? Im not saying Tanks should have mage options, im saying, ive got a 2handed warrior, why cant i unlock all trees for that Class in MP and have a ... to quote Iron Bull , "Ripped" 2 handed warrior that I can eventually unlock the prospect of being able to respec and play as a Reaver, Templar or whatever in MP without having to have a seperate character ?
