If you conscript the Templars instead of allying with them? I wan't to play a game in which my Inquisitor makes the Inquisition a giant force and would prefer conscripting the templars into my army instead of allying with them, but I also like Ser Barris and wan't to know if I can still name him Knight Commander if I do.

On the one playthrough where the stars aligned (aka I wasn't absolutely directionally challenged trying to navigate Therinfall Redoubt AND obsessively returned to the Great Hall) and I allied with the Templars...the 'Promote Ser Barris' mission was actually bugged and never fired. 'Promote Ser Barris in the Throne Room.' Great. I want to do that. Please, please let me do that. Alas~ So...I'm not sure if it works if you conscript the templars, but I don't really know why it wouldn't since they can always go off and do whatever they want to after the fact (Fiona certainly does). But, on the other hand, you might not get your hopes up too high on the off-chance it's bugged for you as well. :/

I am playing right now with the Templars conscripted and I received those quests. I also was able to promote Ser Barris. At first I thought I couldn't, but then it worked when I had judgements in cue. The promotion scene popped up just before I judged Servis.

I conscripted the Templars and none of the templar operations ever happened for me. Ser Barris is entirely absent from my game.

Who's Servis again? Did you finish one of the two MQ missions after getting Skyhold?

Did he die at Therinfall? I know that can happen according to other people. I've personally never had him die so...  *shrug*

No, I didn't. I am right in the middle of Here Lies the Abyss and just got to the fade earlier today. I haven't done Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts yet. Servis is the guy running things at the Western Approach. That quest to catch him is triggered after getting Griffon Wing Keep and chasing after dark spawn into the prison whose name I can't remember.

I wonder if it's a glitch on my end? Maybe it reads as if I allied with the Templars?

Barris is listed as an agent but I've never had a quest for him. I vaguely remember there was a quest chain early on about mages spreading rumours and I'm pretty sure the conscripted templar forces were used to stop them but but nothing since then.

Ser Barris war table missions is bugged, some playthroughs it will appear, in others dont, but its is possible to promote him if the templars are conscripted or allied.

That's unfortunate    This is probably going to be my only playthrough where I actually side with the bloody Templars and I have heard or seen Ser Barris mentioned once in my game post-Haven.
