I wasn't too far into the game (only at "Champions of the Just") but I had to restart because I could see that it was just going to be too brutal as a Warrior. So many Warrior skills are too dangerous to be used around allies (hello, Whirldwind and Slam) and the AI doesn't have the intelligence to not use skills an inopportune time - before I restarted I had just watched my Inquisitor, upon being revived by Cassandra, immediately get up and Whirlwind, cracking Cassandra straight in the face and KO'ing her.

So I'm going to have to dust off the ol'Origins playbook and go with being the Sword'n'Board Warrior or the Archer/Mage calling the shots from the back.  Which is alright, because its what both of my original characters were, but I WAS kind of hoping to do a little face smashing. Maybe I'll do a little of it vicariously through Cassandra.

Also.....why the Archer AI, not matter their tactics, so bad in EVERY DA game? Sebastian was a least somewhat passable, and Mages are smart enough to not nuke their own allies most of the time it seems, but the Archers are just plain stupid it seems. Thanks for using your poison combo right on top of the Inquisitor and Cassandra, Varric.

I'd highly recommend just turning off friendly fire. It's not worth the headache, and it'll make the game much more enjoyable. It did for me, anyway.

There are more meaningful ways to increase difficulty.

I think you're supposed to turn AI off and micromanage everything if you want to roll with friendly fire on.

Its funny, because the Mage AI is smart enough not to nuke its own teammates with AoE spells/combos, but apparently Two-Handed Warriors and Archers are not.

Spells have manuals, texts, grimoires, librams, etc; swords, daggers, and bows do not. Sera is a good example; let her explain....

Well, its been going much better so far. At least no one has gotten hammered in the face yet.
