I'm having sound issues in Mass Effect 2 during cut scenes. Listed below is the information requested on the sticky forum for how to report a problem.

I purchased ME2 on Steam for PC.

Pentium Dual-Core CPU E5200 @ 2.50GHz, 2500 MHz clock speed, 4 GB of RAM

ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series 512 MB

*There is no Driver Version listed in the Summary for the Configuration Utility. However, Device Manager lists the Driver version as 8.681.0.0.

Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit
Direct X 10.0

The problem is out of sync voices in the cut scenes, most notably the first cut scenes of the game. It happens only after the Normandy first shows up and Joker begins talking with Pressly. Earlier, with the two characters discussing Shepard (Martin Sheen and Sarah from Chuck =D ), there seems to be no problem. I've tried to upgrade my audio drivers, but that seemed to exacerbte the problem as the audio is now so much out of sync by many seconds that I can't even follow what is supposed to be happening.

EDIT: Totally forgot to post the most important specs, the sound stuff! The Configuration utility references it as Realtek High Definition Audio at version 6.0.1.5998. As far as I know its onboard audio for my Gigabyte EP43-UD3L motherboard by Realtek. I downloaded and installed the latest drivers I could find on the Gigabyte website.

Managed to suffer through the problems and noticed that the sound effects are all playing at the proper time and its only the dialog that is out of sync. Managed to get to the first conversation point with Kaiden but couldn't tell if it happened here or not seeing as how we're both wearing badass masks.

Thanks, I check it out. Unfortunately his problem has a solution I can think up and I'm still scratching my skull trying to figure out what might cause it.

I played through a bit more, and it looks like most of the in-game conversation things are spot on audio wise, but I'll need a bit more time to see. The conversation with Joker seemed to be synced properly, but as soon as it entered the cut scene where Shepard throws him into the escape pod, the voices were off again.
