I've seen lots of Quizzies with scars, but I don't have the option to get any. I'm on Xbox 360 with Inquisition. Why isn't it letting me get scars?
Scars?

I see you've moved the post to the right place. As I said, it is an old gen issue - check this link. More precisely, this:
It's confirmed that scars were intentionally left out from old gen versions: "One of the visual sacrifices made to fit in the older hardware’s memory." (direct quote by Mike Laidlaw).

It's sad that you can't get scars, but the game is next-gen. The new consoles are out for over a year now. It's great last-gen players can still get this game on their consoles, so you probably have to accept that some things just couldn't be implemented hardware-wise.
Edit: I don't really get why specifically the scars where the problem to implement. Weren't scars also available in ME1? And that game's pretty old.

Don't forget they totally eliminated older PC players. You must to have a 64 bit PC to play on PC at all. Not having scars is a minor thing compared to no play at all.

System requirements move on. You can't always make your game work on even the oldest system.
64 bit system have been around for a long time now and aren't that expensive as well. I for one don't even know anybody who still has a 32 bit system... would that even run other games with the processing power without lag?

Glad they finally confirmed it for the doubters, I've been saying this all along. The PS3/360 have 256mb of vram, that is far below the minimum of 512mb which is still poor. Sacrifices had to be made.
@Rhidor - Scars are implemented through shaders, skin shaders to be exact which can be very expensive. On older generation games, we didn't have subsurface scattering and a host of other shader features to implement for our characters, which made scar integration feasible. Now with the emphasis on better looking characters, and more expensive shaders scars was a logical cut as it introduced more nodes/instructions that would further hinder performance. Furthermore it wasn't a necessity. When you have a heavy shader that is applied to multiple characters in a scene, it can wear down older hardware. Scars weren't the only thing they had to cut or scale back on for previous generations, but it was an easy loss as it sacrificed minimal visuals for an increase in performance.
For those who say it's unfair, would you rather keep the scars and see a 10-15 fps dip in your gameplay when multiple characters are on screen? Also keep in mind it's a console hardware limitation, it isn't Biowares fault. They did what they could to get the game to run on previous generation consoles as best as they could given the constraints.
