And that kind of thinking is part of the problem.

He is a Ben-Hassareth. Qunari do not see bas as equal to them. Doesn't sound very respectful when one person involved views the other as lesser to them.

But then the people having sex with Bull could just view him as a fugly beast to get their kicks off on.  They both would be thinking of the other as the lesser party, if it were true.

All the NPCs who have sex with Bull seem pretty happy about it afterwards - he gets excellent reviews from Orlesian noblewomen, Chantry sisters and Dorian alike. (Well, I think that we can take the fact that Dorian had sex with him three times in one night and then went back for more as a good review, anyway, regardless of how annoying Dorian might fight the fact that he enjoyed it.)

I'd say that's a good sign that he's a respectful and considerate sex partner. As long as nobody he bangs for fun expects anything but that (and he seems to make things clear) then there's nothing wrong with that.

Of all the problems in DAI, this is probably one that least matters.

Nah, there can be lesser ones.

"Why does Sera have an odd number of freckles? It makes her ugly since her face doesn't have symmetrical dots." :P

Fair enough, but I wouldn't say his sexual activities within the Inquisition have harmed anything. From the little bits we've heard about, no ones been hurt and the Inquisition hasn't been jeapordized on any level due to his night time activities.

Just because we've been fortunately though doesn't mean it doesn't still concern others. As the Inquisitor, our job is to watch out for our people so not liking something that can jeopardize them is perfectly valid.

If we can ask Cole to stop doing his acts of random kindness, we should have been able to ask others to stop dong things as well. In The Iron Bull's case, that would be stop offering bull rides.

But then the people having sex with Bull could just view him as a fugly beast to get their kicks off on.  They both would be thinking of the other as the lesser party, if it were true.

Again, I never said The Iron Bull was the only one involved I didn't approve of. I just pointed out that his culture is one that sees others as inferior to his.

Of course they are happy. Sex causes pleasure for most people. Nobody would have it if it didn't thus a species would die out. But just because they like something doesn't make doing it right. To use a comparison, a lot of substance users are happy after they use the substance. Doesn't mean using the substance is the right thing to do. I know that is rather hyperbolic, but it does work since both acts give the person pleasure and both acts can become addicting to the person.

If he was a respectful and considerate partner, he wouldn't sleep around and only have flings. The only time I'd say he is a respectful and considerate partner is with the Inquisitor and possibly Dorian if he does the same thing he does in ours.

People are allowed to have different opinions than you. It doesn't give you a right to insult those posters. In fact doing so goes against the Site Rules you agreed to when you made your account to post here.

So those of use who don't get romantically attached to people should just ... never have sex? In case we become sex addicts?

Yeah. I think Bull and his partners will be just fine.

I'm not saying everyone who has lots of sex will become sex addicts, just that it can happen. Just like how not everyone who drinks coffee will become caffeine addicts, but it can happen.

Oh for heavens sake:

Why is anything going on between consenting adults anyone else's business? Wanna stay a virgin until marriage, go ahead. Want to have lots and lots of casual sex, go ahead. As long as no one gets hurt, what's the harm?

And why is a person who gets romantically attached to their partners any less likely to become a sex addict than a person who doesn't?

Again, when you are a leader what your subordinates are doing is your business since your business is them.

Unless their private lives involves them screwing a colleague, in which case most companies intervene.

Actually, Bull's just hired by the Inquisition. He's a sellsword who's not in an official position of power within the Inquisition, so by that logic the only people he shouldn't sleep with are the Chargers. Which, to my knowledge, he doesn't. Sure, he ends up a part of the inner circle, but he's not endangering anyone by having consensual sex with serving girls.

You compared casual sex to the use of illicit drugs. What makes romantic sex any different?

Dorian isn't part of the Inquisition. He is only helping.

And the chantry sisters and noblewoman are most definitely not our subordinates.

Heck, they aren't part of the Inquisition either.

And even if they're a part of the Inquisition it doesn't change the fact that any leader who feel the need to control their subordinates sex life is not a leader worth having. That's just creepy!

So when a company hires you, you aren't actually a member of that company?

When a country or organization hires a freelancer, they become part of that force until the contract expires.

No, I compared having sex to the use of substances. Both make the person feel good and both can cause someone to become addicted. Whether you are having casual sex or only with your spouse, the chances are the same.

Last I checked, there are three dialogue options that say "Dorian will join the Inquisition." Dorian wants to help by joining the Inquisition.

And the Chantry sister and kitchen staff are definitely part of the Inquisition. Everyone there minus a few guests are part of it. I'll give you the noblewoman though since it was a Codex entry so who knows when it was written.

And even if they're a part of the Inquisition it doesn't change the fact that any leader who feel the need to control their subordinates sex life is not a leader worth having. That's just creepy!

If they want to go to the nearest town and hit up a brothel, fine. It's only when they sleep with other members that a superior can step in. With companies it is usually by firing them if they don't stop and if military there are punishments.

Indeed. My parents only met because the Victorian Education Department sent them to work at the same school in the middle of nowhere, and nobody had a problem with that. I know lots of people who have married or dated or hooked up with co-workers without any drama resulting. (As well as cases where drama certainly has resulted, but no more so than the two people who almost came to blows over who had to clean the coffee machine at the end of the day.) It seems pretty normal, at least where I live. I certainly don't know anyone who's been fired because of it.

OK, I'm confused. I said 'so people who don't get romantically attached to their partners should never have sex?' and you responded by saying that sex could be addictive. Are you saying people should have sex at all, causal or otherwise?
