"Error: There was an error retrieving required data from the Dragon Age server. Session terminated."

Errr... okay. Thanks for letting me know however a confirmation button would be nice for this dialog so we don't have to completely exit the game.  ^_^

Thanks

Just had this happen myself. Multiplayer crashes and bugs out so damn much it's almost not worth trying to even play it. Not to mention the fact that half of my games have had bots that I cant get all 3 other players to vote to kick either because they have no idea how or have connectivity problems or dont stay long enough to care. Kind of wasting my time to crash out of or have to quit 50% of my matches...

For my first stint into DAMP tonight, I managed to sit around for most of the time, waiting for a lobby. Then, upon exiting a match, I'd get this error. I'm really not impressed ATM. Actually being in a match was ok, realizing I have to craft new gear seemed a good idea. But with the crashes and lack of people playing/amount of time I spent waiting.....I dunno if I'll go back to it.

The way DAMP was implemented was an error.

Welcome to the shattered dreams and disapointments club brother.

Also it's not that there isn't anyone playing, infact there are many playing but they only match make you if live in the same block... So I suggest buying several copies of dragon age inquisition and gifting them to your neighbours if you want to play with other people.:)

I swear this has been ea's master plan all along. Getting frustrated gamers to buy multiple copies of its subpar games.

If this was the case, why the crap was I rubber-banding so hard?! I'd use Fade Step to get away from something, and once the spell finished and I started running I'd teleport halfway back to where I was......and my internet is NOT bad.

And this is a real big disappointment. DA MP seems to be something differen't, allowing me to play Dragon Age without burning out on the game entirely. When I get sick of playing SP, play some MP. But if MP isn't working properly, that throws a wrench into that plan.

Guess it's time to go back to some older games during my break times. I've only ever beaten Origins once, never played any of the Baldur's Gate games, and haven't beaten Divinity: Original Sin either. All of which are games I see nothing but good things about.

If your internet is good then you should host the game, many players seem to think that their dial up/poorly configured wifi connection is optimal for multiplayer. So rubber banding happens when someone who has terrible connection hosts a game because EA doesn't seem to be able to spare some of their many dedicated servers to host their Game of the Year.

Call me a noob, but I'm not entirely certain of what is required for a good host. My internet is decent enough for me to know that when I have issues like that, that it's not MY end, but I'm not confident enough in it to say that my internet would allow me to be a good host.

A good upload speed and decent ping are more important than download speed. That's about all I know lol

I'm packing a connection with effective speeds of 6Mbps/1Mbps with 15ms ping. The ping I should say is top notch but the speeds compared to what my area can offer are among the worst. Still I'm convinced I'm a good host. People don't complain or disconnect and I rarely have issues myself. Some rubberbanding at times when off-host.

I used to do wired connection to modem but then switched my PS3 to another room and ran wired through an electric outlet to the modem (a pair of connectors on AC outlets to run connection through) that made my connection very unstable until I decided to give a chance to my Wi-Fi connection which I often though flaky at best, yet it proved just as strong as my straight cord to modem earlier.

The speeds I posted above were from Wi-Fi (on my Android phone that is. Iirc the connection speed test on PS3 gives slightly worse results but still quite close to these.)

Hmmm. I'm running 17Mbps down and 1.3(ish)Mbps up. Not sure on the ping. Definitely a wired connection to my PC though. Maybe I'll give it a go and see how it is.

what is your actual speed test to your local server?

speedtest.net

I don't use speedtest.net, as most people I know who are smarter than me in this area tell me that it's wildly inaccurate. I actually use testmy.net. Came out with a 1.8 Mbps upload.

testmy doesn't show me a ping that I can see, so I ran a speedtest as well. 1.97 up with a 26 ping.
