Just what it says on the can. I've yet to see anyone say they chose to sacrifice Hawke instead of Stroud at the end of Adamant. If you did sacrifice Hawke, what was your justification?

I just did this. Reason was to see Varric cry.

I sacrificed Hawke in my second playthrough, but in place of Alistair, not Stroud. It wasn't easy. D':

Does he really cry?

I've only seen one version of his reaction but it wasn't in a playthrough where he's besties with Hawke. I understand his reaction differs accordingly.

Not me - never, ever happening. I'm unable to do that to my femHawke and Varric.

Kind of. You get to give him a hug.

It really brings out how big his head is.

On my second playthrough now, with Ali as the Warden friend. In this one, Hawke romanced Anders then stabbed him at the end, so there is no one for her to go back to.

Hence the question. It's a little too easy a choice with Stroud :D

No but that scene was quite emotional...I couldn't control my tears during that scene... :(

I created a Hawke as far apart from my own and was able to sacrifice him with ease.

It's that easy folks; not a difficult choice if you prepare for it.

Yes, my first playthrough. Stroud seemed the better choice to survive because of the Grey Wardens.

My Varric was besties with my Hawke, and I sacrificed her. I wouldn't have cared about sacrificing Stroud, but I felt like he could do more alive in getting the Wardens back on track. Hawke had her bit in the Champion of Kirkwall, and I liked the feels from her doing something so heroic. Varric was totally gutted, asked where Hawke was twice is such a kicked puppy kinda way. ; ;

I sacrificed default Hawke, because the senior Grey Warden needs to rebuild the order and I accepted Hawke's insistence that Corypheus was his responsibility.

I did - and it was my 'canon' Hawke to boot, who is one of my favourites :( . I felt absolutely awful about Varric's reaction.

There was no question in my mind about what should happen, though. Never mind the Inquisitor's decision, at that moment I just asked myself 'would Hawke let someone else do this, or would she toss Stroud out of the rift and go back to kill Blinky?' The answer was obvious.

I can see a couple of my other Hawkes going the same way, although I think they're in world states with Alistair or Loghain rather than Stroud.

Killing my Hawke and making Varric sad for a minor character? Never.

Played 3 times.

First time Sacrificed Loghain, he is very old and the most expendable. He also said he needs to clear his name, that was perfect opportunity and my Inquisitor's speech made him a warden hero.

Second time sacrificed Stroud, it was simply a decision I made because I imported my favorite Hawke to this one.

Third time I sacrificed Hawke and kept Alistair alive. He was truly changed and I thought he could do nice things for the wardens. I also uploaded my arsehole Hawke so that helped as well. If I was going to make Varric sad it had to be over a major character, not minor ones.

I sacrificed Hawke on my second playthrough, but that was between her and Alistair - and mainly it was cos that was my playthrough were the Warden died, so it seemed fitting for Hawke to die as well.

I think I may sacrifice Hawke on my current playthrough, for Stroud. This time being because 1) That Hawke romanced Anders, but killed him. So if he dies, they're sort of together agin. But 2) I have suspicions that staying behind in the Fade may be that thing Flemeth told you about in DA2, where you should leap into the Abyss. So I want to have a couple Hawkes left in the Fade to see if anything ever comes of it.

I started to loathe my Hawke  , so I let her behind in the fade.

I liked Hawke in DA2 a great deal , hated her in DAI.

Let's just say I didn't have a good time , and felt relief when she died.(I hope she's dead)

I felt really bad about Varric though.

Me! I did it because the wardens needed a leader who wasn't trying to slaughter all the nonmages and make mages into mindless slaves. I feel like it's a much better ending then Stroud dieing, because I could care less about him. With Hawke I actually felt really bad about it, but it also gave me a sense of pride. Like a "ya, that's my Hawke" type thing. Oh and Varric pretty much crushed me after.

Maybe I'm a weird, but I couldn't help but notice where Varric was resting his head during the hug:

I was faced with the prospect of sacrificing my canon Hawke, and abandoning Anders in the process, in order to save Stroud. And I did it without hesitation, because that is absolutely what my Hawke would have done.

She felt she had enough blood on her hands already, and would have been d**ned if she was going to let yet another person die as a result of yet another of her many failures.

I felt pretty awful about it when talking to Varric afterwards, though. Glad I didn't take him along for that mission.

For me it was easy. I leave Hawke behind in the fade. It's a no brainer for me for a number of reasons the main one being the way Hawke acts in DA:I is such a disconnect from DA2 it isn't funny.

I don't feel overly attached to Hawke as a character unlike say King Alibear and The Warden.

Hawke was DA's answer to Shepard and it backfired badly. Also don't get me started on the ME3 ending. That alone killed the series for me and killed any attachment I had to the ME cast.

So yeah I leave Hawke in fade.

I sacrificed Hawke to exile the wardens with Loghain and Stroud in both playthrough. I've none with Alistair.
