Crafting is choked by cloth, which rarely drops for some reason. Even the tier 2 longbow grip require whopping 8 cloth, which has to come from mage staffs or clothes.

I get a lot of leather, a lot of iron, but not enough cloth. Anyone has a solution?

Nope, you're going to be bottlenecked by cloth until you've got more materials than you know what to do with.

I've got more Iron, Drakestone, Druffalo Hide, and Bronto Hide than I do all types of cloth combined.

There isn't one. The drop pool for cloth is just lower since there's so much for Warrior / Rogue. Only tips I can offer is to recognize that you can salvage Runes for cloth as well as Mage armor upgrades for cloth.

This.  Eventually, you'll have more runes than top of the line items to put them on, and they'll just be more salvage materials for you.  I've gotten to the point where anything less than a superb rune gets salvaged, along with all bottom tier armor upgrades.  Even with this brutal salvage regimen, I still sparingly unlock the Mage armors, since I have a hard time bringing myself to use tier 2 cloth for basic armor unlocks.

It isn't a big deal when it comes to armor sets anyways, I went through a stretch at the start where no chest gave me armor cards, and I couldn't get any cloth to craft them. Now I have them all unlocked, almost all via chests, along with upgraded armor for almost all of them as well. Once that happens you just need it for weapon upgrades, and you'll have more than enough.

salvage runes and staffs for silk

Cotton is idiotically rare. I found only maybe 14ish regular cottons and 1 t3 cotton so far. I have a combined 50 of other t3 cloth mats.

Yeah, cotton is the one I warn people to not waste on anything but definite upgrades.

it is RNG, it is common for some rare for others, I have pretty much used cotton for most light armors, as that is what I had the most of
drakestone, silverite, everite drop A LOT for me, ofc iron as well

Well, I wish we could salvage those damn potions, because I have never used electricity resistance potion, or some other resistance potions. I use the healing and attacking potions only.

I don't get why we can't salvage lower tier armors. They just clutter the inventory space and have no use.

Just play more games... I'm lvl 261 and have **** loads of everything( like 150 in cloth and 300+ in leather and metal ) , everything unlocked and crafted aswell , now its just sitting there doing nothing .

But my amount is nothing compared to some other guys i know who have 500 + cloth but they are in the lvl 300 then...

It's when you're low lvl or just started the game its hard to get it but once you play more games or get a good group going where you clear threathening / perilous runs in 10-15 min , you'll see those piles of cloth stacking rather fast.

Yeah, I am hurting for cloth but I have only played MP for about 3 weeks now; off and on at that. Still, it would be nice if cloth mats were not so rare.

Same here, I have a hard time finding cloth. I still need to unlock necromancer and AW. I've been buying and salvaging as much as possible, I even salvage the lesser runes. I haven't really committed to MP alot either but still it shouldn't be so hard to get. And it really bugs me cuz i only need 1 more silk but I keep getting metals, leather or different cloth. I've been trying to get 1 more silk since yesterday. Ugghh wtf??

You pretty much have to be stingy with your cloth from the beginning, and just choose one mage class you want to play and leave the rest alone until you're many many games into it. You also have to be stingy with weapon upgrades, and not use cloth on anything below roughly an item level of 17 (unless it's exceptional). I don't think the problem is RNG. I think it's just because your cloth generating staves are competing with four other weapon types for a drop, and they all have pretty much the same percentage chance to drop from a chest.

No kidding.  Cloth is so rare, I've taken to saving the navel lint out of my belly button every morning!

Scavenge your armor gloves and leg upgrade below lvl 15. Scavenge your runes that are below purple. You'll get so many cloths.

Medallian chiming in!!! Hey every one I read ya'lls posts and maybe I can help you under stand why cloth is so rare...and it's really a simple answer... there just aren't many mage things..... cheak this out..:) for melee weapons you got 6 3 for one handed 3 for two handed and a shield ...they all give you iron and metal... for rogues you got 2 bows and daggers that give you leather and for mage you got a staff....that's it a staff... it's simply that warrior s have more stuff so you get metal more often... and cloths and silks less often so you get silk 6 times less then metal and leather 3 times less ...

I understand why cloth is rarer than metals or leathers, the thing that annoys me is the rarity of the cottons over the rest. All I want is cotton. I'm to the point where I'm willing to pay real money just for the cottons.

Willpower bonus, Heal on Kill. Cotton, the fabric of our lives.

It seem every chest I open has like 2 mage armor upgrades which I savage and 80%of the time i get cotton.

I have 42 of it. I don't upgrade every weapon, only the top 2 of each type.

I have no problem with t1 cotton. That supply is over 200 for me, and I actually use it off and on. The problem is the Lustrous Cotton and the Imperial Vestment Cotton. Those supplies are at 11 and 7, respectively. That's ridiculous. Especially when some upgrades take 8 cloth. I know some things are harder to come by, but Frank, two 40s and a Hail Mary, I'm frustrated.

Yeah, it seems that what you get is pure chance. I almost never get mage armor upgrades, but staff as a weapon. As I rise in the ranks, the weapons I get rise as well.
