I am having this issue. I have tried the reinstall, I downloaded the adobe air file. I can't figure out the binary stuff and all the extra slashes is too much for me since every one paths are different. I am getting tired of being beta testers for paid released games. WTF. When will there be a fix for this.

This is the biggest crock. I keep typing in those command lines and nothing. My ticket with d2drive is still open ofcourse. Im going to just try to get a refund and go into the store and get it.

Lol. Installed for the 3rd time. All I have been doing today. After this dll error knocked my whole computer and router off-line. This is some straight up garbage.

Tsk. Wouldnt believe how I finally got the game to work. Had to open the binaries folder and force load the game by clicking the ea core server and the games exe file real quick. Not the most ideal way to load the game. BTW thanks for all the feedback.

Hey guys, ok. I have been up since about 10am trying to figure out how to finally fix this. My brother has it on his laptop and it works with absolutely no problems. I finished transferring the installation files which we got from Gamersgate. I started getting the Misconfiguration error / awsdll. error too. I searched everywhere, tried every single solution but nothing. So i looked closer at both my files and compared them to my brothers, story short. I was missing the activation folder which is specified in the EACore_app.ini file. Something must have stuffed up in the installation process, anyway, i copied my brothers activation folder located at C:\\\\\\\\Program Files\\\\\\\\Electronic Arts\\\\\\\\Activation <--- for me it wasn't there.

Anyway, here is a download link to the activation folder. It should work, it did for me after trying every single solution. Hope it helps guys, this is really annoying. Cheers!

@Rodrigo_P oi, I tried to download that file of yours but I got this when I got to the page:

"ERROR

This file is neither allocated to a Premium Account, or a Collector's Account, and can therefore only be downloaded 10 times.

This limit is reached.

To download this file, the uploader either needs to transfer this file into his/her Collector's Account, or upload the file again. The file can later be moved to a Collector's Account. The uploader just needs to click the delete link of the file to get further information."

help?

So after beating my head against a wall for the better part of the early morning, after having played the game through twice before my hard-drive got wiped due to some jerks at Geek Squad, I can only conclude that EA does indeed suck at whatever it is they're trying to do with that godforsaken activation. A legally purchased game should not be this hard to run.

I don't know why it is that before my hard drive got wiped I had no problems and now I'm forced to start the EA core before starting my game. It's nonsensical and utterly ridiculous.

I fear for what I'll have to endure getting DAO working so I can have a character ready to transfer to the expansion.

None of these solutions seem to be working for me. I've downloaded Adobe AIR, tried the command controls, re-installing the game, nothing seems to be working. I noticed that my EAAccessInstaller refuses to load because it keeps telling me it needs to be initiated in 'silent' mode, but every time I try to launch it in the Command window, I keep getting a message telling me that it doesn't recognize the file path.

And every time I reinstall and try to launch the game, it does the Registration Authenticator, then the Authenticator shuts down and i get the awc.dll load failed error, again. I'm really at a loss of how to fix this and I really want to play ME2, since I finished ME.

I've concluded, most likely, that I may be trying the Command solutions wrong, probably because they seem a little confusing. Is there any sort of fix for this problem because this is frustrating me a great deal.

Do they give you a product key? If they do then maybe you can acquire a dvd or image from a friend and use the product key to install it...

I may just have to. This is ridiculous, I've been trying to find a solution, but nothing I've tried isn't working. I have a friend who runs ME2 on his computer and it works just find and I have the required specs to run the game, it's just that damn awc.dll file and the EA Access Installer that seem to be barring me from playing the game.

Nothing like having a hard copy, don't have to worry about bad downloads. Just losing the dvds lol.

T3H Fish , have you tried starting EACoreServer.exe manually, before running the game?

I'm unable to perform that trick because the EACoreServer.exe just simply isn't there. I went through ALL off the Mass Effect 2 folders and I can't find it. Perhaps this is also part of the problem for me, but I can't be certain.

You need that file.

using

EAAccessInstaller /s /dir “C:\\Program Files\\Mass Effect 2\\binaries”

should install EACoreServer.exe to your folder.

C:\\Program Files\\Mass Effect 2\\binaries

should be changed to your install path

EAAccessInstaller.exe is located where the game is downloaded to, before it is installed.

Ok, I tried that and I keep getting this error message

'EAAccessInstaller is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.'

I'm not very computer savvy, so I don't understand what's going wrong, and I'm putting in the command exactly as you gave it, with the changes to the directory to the install path.

that command has to be run from the directory EAAccessInstaller is located in. The error means it cant find a command called EAAccessInstaller.

try this
Click on the start button
Select Run
Locate EAAccessInstaller.exe and click "open"
now you should see the full path to the file like C:\\EAstuff\\EAAccessInstaller.exe
add "/s /dir “C:\\Program Files\\Mass Effect 2\\binaries” after it, so it looks like this

C:\\EAstuff\\EAAccessInstaller.exe /s /dir “C:\\Program Files\\Mass Effect 2\\binaries”

then press ok, and it will run

Edit: and another thing. this forum adds another \\ everywhere. There should only be one backslash and not two when writing the path

Okey I've created this little file that will do what we need

EAAccess.bat

I've uploaded it here

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GOLNVMTR

All it contains is this line

EAAccessInstaller.exe /s /dir “C:\\Program Files\\Mass Effect 2\\binaries”

You need to open it with notepad and change the path to match yours and then save.

EAAccess.bat should be copied to the same directory as where EAAccessInstaller.exe is located.

Then all you need to do after doing the above is double clicking it to run it, and hopefully things will work.

I feel bad for all you people, has anyone tried getting a dvd/image from someone to see if you could install the game?
