All the best in your recovery and dealing with your health issues, but I find the title of your OP very misleading, you're a man in his 20's, not a 'kid'. A kid is someone below the age of majority, which where you live is 19, so you are not a kid. Please reconsider how you represent yourself in the future.
I believe that "kid" is manner of speech rather than biological accuraty in this context.

Doesn't matter 20 years old isn't considered a kid but a full grown adult.

Again, manner of speech. It doesn't matter what it's considered since it's manner of speech to give certain expression, feeling etc. to readers.
Legal terms, biological etc. don't matter since it's manner of speech, it doesn't have to be in touch of realism.

So the guy says kid so what, what is misleading about it? Were you hoping to read a thread about a dying child? Hoping to make a comment on why a parent would allow a child to play a rated M game? Do you feel that your sympathies were wrongly given because you thought you were going to go "aww poor kid, I hope you get better".
It is a manner of speech, My grandfather used to call me Son and Kiddo for 38 years before he died. So what if he calls himself kid.

It can be misleading but it's to give certain wibe to readers, not everything in speech is literal you know and different words are used to give off different feeling.

Hey,
Thank you for sharing. I have a similar story.
I was never into video games but 4 years back I was crushed between two cars and ended up being in the hospital for almost a year. Before then I was extremely active in hiking, martial arts, dance, theatre you name it. After the accident I had (still have) a long recovery and could no longer be active or even get out of the house that much. I decided to give video games a try to kill some time. I was only interested in an RPG and one that you could play as a female who wasn't running around nearly naked and just being eye candy. Someone suggested I would like DAO so I bought it and within minutes of playing I knew I was into something special.
Then, later in the game, when I found out there were romances and I could actually romance another woman, BW had a fan for life. I still remember how I felt when I discovered that out. I just couldn't believe that they had included that in the game. When you go through 30+ years of life not seeing hardly any genuine examples of your own circumstances in nearly all entertainment media it just feels better than amazing to feel included in something. And it was done so well. I know many of you will think I am being melodramatic but it actually made me cry IRL.
Dragon Age came along in my life when I was in a really dark, sad place and I can say without any hesitation Dragon Age really changed my life for the better. Since then I have been a fanatic DA player, collector and supporter. The last few years would have been so dreadful and depressing without DA in my life. I do thank the powers that be that it came into my life when it did.
So thank you for sharing your story. Reminds me how lucky I am as well!

To address your comment. I have always considered myself a "kid". I think it's part of the culture I have been involved in, from gaming to athletics. I've always been one of the younger in those groups so typically was called "kid" etc. I in no way meant to mislead anyone.
I didn't even hesitate when writing that as it is so engrained in how I identify myself.

I hope you get well. I had cancer a few years ago and gaming has kept me sane. I do appreciate the people who develop these games and hope they get all the bugs and problems worked out on dragon age inquisition. If you xbox you can add me as a friend.

I'll answer that. It's because there are others, several actually, "sick kids" around the forums who get a new chronic ailment every thread they post, and always present themselves like that. It's not an unreasonable question, given the circumstances. We just all take it in good faith that this is as he says it is. We could as well do the opposite, but we're good people like that
Hope that answered your question.
