I want something like "The Citadel" (from the DLC), well all the stuff from the Citadel especially the Arena (maybe you can expand it and make some sort of championship where you can gain levels and titles)
I like you.

If anything, at minimum i think we'll get 1 old hub and 3, maybe 4 new ones.
This would be rad, but I hiiiighly doubt we'll see that many. Bracing for one.

I hope that the hubb area,s are big and full of life. Bars, hairdressershops, tattooshops, restaurants, karaoke bars and more and more. I love the neonlight Bladerunner look. so put it in the game!
But i am sure Bioware is creative enough to come with an beautifull hub area.

I'm thinking that we'll be in a big ship, a dreadnought or something, which will have its own hub area.
That is an...interesting idea. It would make sense that they would send one dreadnought with smaller ships docked inside while exploring uncharted space. We would likely be too far from a hub area I assume.
Something like Crematoria. Extreme environmental hazard on the surface and large underground complex. It should be cramped and crowded with a lot of criminal elements and danger on every corner.
Another one - an underwater city with powerful storms above.
Either of those ideas would be incredible. I think an underwater city on Kahje, the Hanar homeworld, would be awesome.
Eventually, someone is going to make the first game in which populated areas feel like real, populated areas, rather than video game locales. I think Assassin's Creed has already done this, but that isn't an RPG, and has a lot of resources built toward achieving that feel.
In terms of BioWare, I'd like to see NPCs going about their lives, rather than standing in the same places, unchanging, for a quarter or third of the game. Static NPCs that are basically wallpaper, and NPCs that seem to be hanging around in hopes that the PC will stumble upon them, are feeling very dated, at this point.
I really have no idea what type of investment it requires to achieve more lifelike environments in this fashion. Maybe it's not worth it. All I know is that I haven't really been impressed by any of the series' hubs, beyond the curiosity accompanying my first visit.
You could extend this to the general environments, too. DAI featured lots of enemies standing around in the wilderness, just waiting to be discovered and killed by the Inquisitor. Very lame. I never want to see that in ME. That really hasn't been a problem, and I doubt it will become an issue.
Hubs with people that actually move would be nice. Assassin's Creed has crowd behavior and physics, but that obviously takes up processing power. It doesn't need to be that complex obviously, but the same groups of people stood in the same place every time. That definitely made it seem like a game. I'd like to see people move, and wild animals on uncharted planets move too.
The one gripe I have about hubs in the ME series is they are too sprawling and unrealistic. Make them lively and interesting but more compact and more logically laid out - it is annoying, once you're familiar with a place, to run backwards and forwards through three loading screens and across endless open-plan spaces to talk to different NPC's about a sidequest. Space would theoretically always be a valued commodity (especially on a ship or station) so the shops would be smaller, more compact and closer together. Also, consider the practicalities of life - it bugs me that there aren't places for my team members to sleep or keep a change of clothes on the Normandy, or that there is a huge human embassy office, but all the other races share a joint office 'fishbowl'. At least put in some permanently locked doors hinting at a more logical layout. Maybe Bioware should consult a planner or conceptual architect - it would really add to the immersion factor of their games.
Practicality over aesthetics is probably the best way to ensure that an area looks like people live there. I wholeheartedly agree, especially on the crew member issue. Our companions may have had their own designated "spots" on the ship, but none of them looked like they actually lived there -- it only really looked like they worked there. The ship needs crew quarters. After all, how does a ship have a mess hall and a mini bar, but no living areas aside from the captain's?

Yes the Normandy layout was absurd, those HUGE wide corridors and all that mess hall space, but all the crew are packed liked sardines in that little room with two dozen bunk beds. Ridiculous.

I always just assumed they slept in shifts, but even then, that seems rather unfortunate. Sharing your bed with twenty other people is just absurd (I'm fairly certain I just offended some third-world country there).

I'd kind of like to be able to actually walk between areas like in ME1. I get why they took lift rides out and went with the loading screens, but I think they took it a little far with the ME3 Citadel. ME3's Citadel was actually nicely done floor by floor, but the way you went from one area to the next made it feel kind of disjointed and small. I guess Illium was quite good since it didn't have any elevators but was small enough that running around it wasn't annoying, but ME1's Citadel is the only one that really captured the scale imo. I honestly wouldn't mind having elevators and hallways, with a fast travel option, which IIRC was exactly what ME1 had.

Personally i dont get why those loading screens in ME3 citadel. The whole Citadel is already loaded but the areas you dont see are just of lower quality (Presumably to save on system resources). I only found that out by triggering a glitch to get my Shepard over a counter at the Normandy dock...fell through the floor and suddenly im at presidium commons... and everything suddenly loaded to its usual quality... no loading screen! So i think it'd be perfectly fine to have elevators like from ME1 (Maaaaybe a little faster

In the next game, if we encounter any space stations, asteroids, or whatnot named "Alpha", know that I'm sitting in front of my TV, shaking my head, muttering "Damn it, Jeff".

Yeah, I thought the elevator rides were a clever solution to disruptive loading screens. Apparently, many disagreed. I'd much prefer those old elevator scenes to loading screens in future games. ME did a great job of leaving you "in character" as much as possible. I miss that little part of it.
Agreed, I actually enjoyed the elevator rides in ME1. Especially due to the banter. And nothing like shooting up a bunch of guys only to walk into an elevator with the cliche elevator tune.

I'd love to see an expanded area of the Citadel. Do you think it would be possible to have day and night cycles while you're on missions or the Citadel? I'd love to see that, I'm not sure about anyone else but how do they get to sleep at night on the Citadel. From my understanding it's always using artificial light for a sky.

If we are not leaving the galaxy as we know it in Mass Effect far behind us, I would want places we have been to but not seen much of and some we have never been to, like:
- the main worlds of the council species (including a rebuild earth)
- jump zero (Gagarin Station)
- the rebuild Arcturus Station (headquarters of the Systems Alliance and the Alliance Military)
- the batarian homeworld...
- ... (might add some if I get anymore ideas)

I was always perplexed as to why they simply removed elevators and replaced them with loading screens instead of just fixing their load times. It was a clever alternative that I truly enjoyed.

Kahje please.
I want to visit another ocean world ala Manaan from KOTOR. That just had a serene peaceful feeling to it.
Maybe let us visit the Prothean ruins around Mount Vassala?
Maybe give us access to a water-Mako variant to explore the islands dotted around the main domed city?

I wasn't sold, at first. I have to admit, though, that zipping around a watery world does sound like fun. This would've been a suitable use for the M44 Hammerhead (he only suitable use, as far as I'm concerned). Having the new Mako capable of turning into a boat or hovercraft sounds cheesy. Maybe we could explore with a local vehicle on such a world, rather than in the Mako?Kahje please.

Yeah, I was just spitballing. I just want to see another ocean world with 360 degree views. Also, anything to have more Hanar in the game ![]()
I'll be happy just to visit the planet, but I would be excited if we got to explore around a bit.

Or something like Cloud CIty in Star Wars, just imagine it in the stratosphere but being to see the surface, maybe the sea, something like that. The shadow broker's ship could serve as inspiration for it.
Or a city underwater, next to the coast with corals and fish around the windows.
Just new areas, that can leave you with an impression when you first see them, like Omega or the Citadel.

Manaan was my favorite world to visit in KOTOR because it was just so interesting to me. I just loved all the water. Needless to say, the idea of visiting Kahje is very exciting. Even more so if we get to see the Hanar in their natural environment. Given the events of the Leviathan DLC, I don't think more deep sea exploration is out of the question.

@tallrickruush - I agree with you about the elevators. I also liked how we heard the news and our squad members had conversations.
Edit: I hated being disconnected from my character due to loading screens. (

This would depend on the setting but I would like to see a futuristic arcade-style game machine in the hub area with the game being a spoof of the first ME trilogy. It wouldn't be too long but it would make fun of how things were in the first three games, namely exploring in ME1, getting loyalty in ME2, and building alliances in ME3.
I dunno, just something random.
