shield value decreases during mission

Before i begin a mission when i check the stats in the level up screen it says i have 825 health and 1125 shield after i begin however the shield value decreases to 975. Is there a max you can have on the shield stats or something or is it just not registering? I have several shield boost equipmrnt and my class is a sentinel.Any help would be greatly appreciated I didn't find the answer to this anywhere and don't know if I posted in the right section. Thanks

Weird. It should be the other way around. James gives bonus shields at rank 6 of his class power and armor should also apply only in missions. 

Although, come to think of it... What is your bonus power? Is it Fortification, Barrier or Defense Matrix?

Yea i usually have james and garrus with the 25%shield armor. My bonus power is defense matrix and its almost upgraded to the max just missing the final upgrade. Also I think it might be related to my equipment because it originally showed 1025 in the pre mission screen then reverted back to 975 during the mission. Then I added another shield boost equipment and it became 1125 in pre mission and again went back to 975.

It might be. It may also be connected to Vega's class power. I found a wiki discussion on a bug related to his class power. Here it is: Link

Why I asked about Defense Matrix is because there is something going on with protective powers like that (Barrier, Fortification, Defense Matrix). I'm currently playing with Barrier and it seems to deactivate/activate out of missions. I see the crosshair turn into recharge meter after every mission. Might be related

I've confirmed its an equipment glitch. My health originally is 825 so I tried putting the all n7 equipment on which is supposed to give you 50℅ health. I picked liara and edi to make sure the glitch has nothing to do with James and pre mission it shows my health as being 1225 which is in fact 50℅ more than the original 825 but after mission starts it drops to 1025. It appears that the the equipment effects are halved regardless of what armor I pick. Same thing happened with blood dragon/Cerberus armors. This sucks I can't find anything about it online :/. Oh well thank you for your help though I appreciate it.

Well that's a bummer :( As a last resort, try deactivating and activating Defense Matrix when the mission starts. It may force the game to calculate shield bonuses again

I've confirmed a handful of equipment bugs over the years. Certain pieces seem stable, while others work maybe half the time. I can't seem to recall which pieces I found lacking, at the moment. I do remember that the 10% Shields visor (drawing another blank :/ ) is one of them. It shuts on and off, so to speak, seemingly at random.

The good news is that Shepard is so damn powerful that it rarely matters. We have to purposely gimp builds in order to make the game challenging, at this point.

The bonus should be 50% of base health.

 

The GUI has errors at mission starts, I am not entirely sure why.  Another example was power damage bonuses from Javik or Garrus showing up in ammo damage per power screen at mission start, and then disappearing if you reload.
