With ME2 only a few days away, two characters to join Sheperd's team have not yet been revealed. There has, however, been the appearance of an interesting character in the upcoming game, a sentient Geth named Legion.
But the big question is if he was he the first, or merely a dangerous clue behind a conspiracy that Tali and her people didn't want the universe to know. In the first game it was stated that the Quarians created the Geth, there was a war and they were driven from their homeworld, but I have another theory... what if the Geth was a collective intelligence and slaves of the Reapers, but in the millennia they were missing the species grew more intelligent. Then they were performing an experiment to evolve through organics, some of them attained sentience and this started the war, until these "people" were exiled from their world and called themselves the Quarians?
In this manner it would mean the two factions are actually the same race, and the reason why they do not show their appearance to other sentient species from their fear of what the Council would do; if they discovered they were superior cast-offs of the original empire. This could also explain why the Quarians directly avoid confrontation with them, because the entrance of an outside party would expose their past. For this reason, I suspect Legion is one of the 11 individuals Sheperd can recruit.

Also if you read Ascension (if memory serves) they detail a quarian, what happens when the suits come off, etc. Interesting theory you have there but the books have painted the quarians as a flesh and blood species.

...who would've ever believed I'd be right about the character's place on the team!

^ thats pretty cool. I was really surprised to see a Geth on the team, until Shep had that chat with him right after releasing him. That and his loyalty mission really told us a lot about the Geth.
