I've gotten to level 15 or so as an elf female rogue, and I'm starting to get super bored of the way all of the medium armours look, the sort of leathery tailcoat design isn't my cup of tea at all.

Having played a load of MP/learning what the hell I'm doing on SP, I thought I might reroll as warrior and do it all better. Min/max harder, make the right choices and all that.

Is there a race/gender combo for warriors that just gets nice plate armour models? It took me until I got Sera in my group to realise that armour doesn't look the same on my female elf as it does on her, so there's no reason the plate that looks cool on Cassandra would look cool on my own female human warrior.

The only plate I think is the warden heavy armor. Other then that I don't think so.

edit: dwarves get Legion of the dead armor as well.

for warriors

for tier 3 stuff, dwarves get legion of the dead armor... thats it, the battlemaster mail is kind of like armor but its not plate mail.

Tier 2, elves get the dalish warrior armor which is by random chest schematic drop, humans get orlesian armor and i think adventurer's armor, everyone can wear warden warrior armor.

yeah, the only things the elves get for armor are the dalish warrior T2, dalish scout T3, and the Keepers robes T3...

Dwarves get Legion of the Dead armor T3, and Ive heard someone say they found a schematic for a carta coat for medium, but i have yet to see proof.

Humans get the Orlesian armors for all classes and the Adventurer's armors for all classes.

Qunari get jack

The OP asked about armor that looks like plate armor... Dalish heavy armor isn't plate, neither is the Carta coat...

I know , I was replying to the other guy...as for proper plated armor, dont get your hopes up...there are even less than in DA2...the battlemaster comes close but its not what you would call full plate armor

Is it just me liking how the amors look in this game. I feel more like a medieval knight now instead of a colorful japanease robot This for me was the worst armor ever.

The only heavy armors I'm aware of are the Warden, Legion of the Dead, Orlesian and Templar. Unfortunately Qunari can not wear any of these and the Legion armor is restricted to dwarfs only. Their stats are also inferior to the battlemaster's armor. Still I use Templar armor for my warriors now since I got bored by the trenchcoats.

The "Mail" variant of the standard class armors is usually heavier looking. Obviously, Defender/Vanguard/Battlemaster Mail will look heaviest. Make sure you get the matching arm and leg upgrades for the giant pauldrons and greaves.

What irks me most about the armor specific to Inquisitor is how out of place it looks compared to others.

It's like he came back in time, wearing something musketeers would from 1700's, while everyone else is still running around with armor from King Arthur's personal armory.

To me the sentinel armor set was the best looking armor Bioware made in the entire series. Yes I am partial to black and red, but the red glow and everything is just amazing. If my HoF ever appears again, I hope they bring that back, without retconning  the helm or shoulders. Just leave as is.

Hell yeah...I would love to see the Sentinel arnor in DAI...I live how menacing black armor looks. They so need to add the DAO massive armors to DAI (and DA2)...its fracking r3tarded how limited you are at end game

I actually like the armours this time around, only thing i wish for is that i could choose the colour scheme myself.

Although I do not mind the armors in Inquisition (and I love the fact that they went for Meredith style Templar armor instead of the dress this time) I admit I miss the heavy armors of Origins. Warden Commander and Cailan's armor as my favorite armors in all of Dragon Age.

God how I hate the rogue armours! Utterly ridiculous and completely NOT badass, plus they make my male lef look like a stick insect/spider monkey hybrid. I want the adventurer armour but nooo...not on an elf. Pffft. I'm still wearing the mercenary coat I got at the beginning, since it looks functional and gives my elf the shoulders the designers saw fit to deny him.

Bring on the Hissing Wastes.

I have a lvl 16 human rogue  run and have him in the 'In Death Sacrifice' set and it is really nice. When I go back to finish him I will be happy! Can't recall where I found it though...*edit* courtesy of this list, I now know I got it from the dragon in Crestwood. :)  http://forum.bioware...-weapons-armor/

And because the inventory screen doesn't do it justice ..

Templar armor is still in the game, and it's a pretty good T3 and buyable schematic, too.
