I'd feel bad if I'd let the demon live.

Or you can just sacrifice him, unlock it, and then reload to an earlier save to do what you wanna actually do. Once it's unlocked it stays unlocked

The book is in Awakening, available from the bartender, which raises the question what exactly is he serving there.

Heard about it, not sure if that **** still works though. I'm using Ultimate Edition.

it will work, once unlocked, always unlocked,

anyway its a game, why do you bother with Connor, or any other character for that matter ?

One sneaky and conniving way to get it unlocked is to save the game just before the decision point, bargain with the demon, unlock blood magic, save and then resume from your first save and do the lyrium ritual with the Circle mages. Once it is unlocked, it is forever unlocked.

By seeking blood magic from the demon, getting it unlocked and then loading an earlier save will keep blood magic unlocked. Since the skill is now unlocked for ALL your characters and not just that one. its bound to your account, not your character.

 

Same trick works for learning Reaver (I think its Reaver) during the urn of sacred ashes. Defile the ashes and tell the leader of the dragon cult. This unlocks Reaver specialty. Then reload an earlier save. Reaver is still available.

If you have a really high intimidate score, you can scare it into offering the bribe it previously wanted to offer in exchange for Connor in exchange for not dying. (I think. I tried this myself and failed, but the wiki says it can work.) Alternatively, you could buy the book or use the exploit.

Yeah I tried to intimidate her, and it worked half way. Guess you need to have silver tongue. I unlocked it and loaded a previous save.

You just need to unlock blood mage and its achievement. Talk with demon, agree to her deal, unlock blood magic. Reload previous save and kill demon. The spec is unlocked.

well unlocked or not, you get a point from the demon to add to skills by making a deal with her,

Connor is expendable and we must all do some sacrifice for the greater good,

and insignificant others are well suited to do the sacrifice
