From my experience of playing a KE one of the better ways to play was to use chain lightning to set up a barrier and then go CQB with the blade and just spam without worrying abot surviving...the question is can Vivi be set up to do this? Would setting CL and SB on preferred work ( currently playing on normal)?

She will only use it when enemies engage her in melee, she will always use ranged spells/staff attacks when she can.

And dont try it with friendly fire. You will wonder who killed you after jusing your chain lightning.
