The description says that it's a toggle ability, but every time my Reaver presses the power's button, it just reactivates the ability.

 

Is there a way to turn it off, short of waiting for myself to run out of stamina?

Press it again while in the ring. If you step out of the ring, it also deactivates. Truth be told, you're better off dropping it asap.

Okay, I'll remember that.

 

I did seem to be turning it off occasionally, so it seemed oddly inconsistent to me (but that mechanic would explain what I was experiencing.)
