Hey all.  I just got to the point where I can choose a specialization for the Inquisitor.  I now feel that I might need to re spec in order to gain some of these specialization abilities.  I like the 2H tree.  I got a few points in Battlemaster, and a few more in Vanguard.  What is the best Spec for a 2HW and what should I cut out of the other warrior trees to concentrate on the new spec?  I want a good balance between Defense and Damage.  Thanks and sorry if this has been answered.  I checked but didn't see much.

I guess a better question would be if not a reaver, is it still possible to deal decent damage with the other 2 Handed abilities?

Hmm depends, here this post below lays it down

Personally i have played reaver and now playing 2h templar. I am enjoying the templar a LOT more than reaver.

Thanks man.  I just dont want to be constantly one step from dying.  Do the Reaver abilities drain your health or do you just have to be massively hurt before they become effective?

Dragon rage you main attack as a reaver takes 2% hp per use.

I would say go 2h champion as it was the most fun for me. It makes you tanky enough to ay the game on nightmare with no tac cam. To the death is really fun to use and makes bosses and big enemies drop quick. Later in the game you can even become the main tank by using walking fortress.

I like all 3 specs after trying them out, but the most fun for me is the 2h Templar and the SnS Champion.

Reaver is pretty good, I enjoyed it, but gets boring after a while.

2-hand Templar is amazing against packs and anything that can be stunned. 2-hand champion can replace your tank and is the best against bosses. 2-hand Reaver is the high risk/high reward with the biggest damage potential, but also feels the most repetitive in my opinion.

If you like the abilities in the 2-hand tree (I do) I would go with Champion. It's the most complimentary tree to combine with 2-hand. You get a huge damage buff against bosses (To the Death) and the best defense out of the 3 specs.

Actually it is 5%. tested it myself with 1000 HP. I lost 50 HP by only using one swing.

And by the way I go for 2H champion too. To the Death is not only good at Boss fight, it is good in any situation. You basically TOD one enemy and stick on him and you have a infinite guard (of course, you have to get upgrade). the only problem is the long cooldown time. However it can be solved by cooldown-reduction amulet, Walking Fortress and Flow of Battle.

Great!! seriously why is the warrior so bugged this time, broken detonators, broken abilities, passives not raising front armour, useless blessed blades, weak 2 handed tree. DAI is by far the weakest iteration of the warrior.

Wearing all that armor and carrying around such heavy weapons must have a big impact. And all that walking prior to getting a relatively useless mount. Tiresome for a Warrior I guess.

I was first reaver, then got bored (silly dragon claw is silly looking). Reloaded my specializations save (14 hours gone!) and picked Templar, was abit more fun with the WOH+SP combo buuut got bored again. Lastly went 2h Champion, never looked back.

2h Champ in medium armor with a Dex/Cunning setup was surprisingly more fun then any of the other two warrior specializations.

Sword and board all the way. The 2Hd Warrior is as weak as a rogue, and more prone to getting killed. Barely more, but more, because he's marginally stupider. Anyway.. pointless. I made Blackwall a 2HD init. and respecced him 5 minutes later. Tried again with Iron Bull because I figured, hey, more points + 25% DR.. Nope. He just died a lot; mostly to AoE damage from enemy 2Handers who obviously did not have the same issues. He just can't get the Guard, and obviously AI hasn't got the sense to use any Parry or block when it might actually do something.

Anyway, he died like 4 times in one battle even the melee mage Solas survived, so I kicked in for an Amulet of "you suck, try again" Also, he couldn't solo vs a single mage, which was pretty terrible too. I'm sure if it was a horde of weak zombies clustered around, he might be useful for awhile.

The shield and armor buffs are almost all on the sword and board side, and they make all the difference. Not much point trying to play without them. The DPS is pitiful, mostly, but then 2Hd dps isn't any better as far a I could tell. Mages seem to do the majority of damage, so just guard and let them do it.

Ive done a reaver playthrough, hated it dragon claws pissed me off. Im sorry but if i play a weapon class i play it to use my damn weapons. Have not tried champion yet as atm trying a templar so far so good. Decent at mob cleaning especially if they can be stunned, bosses not so much.

Champion works well with 2H.  You gotta take the passives that give you bonuses for taunted and knocked down enemies though.  That's how I deal most of my damage.  As a Champion you will have the guard to be able to deal damage.  You gotta be patient.  You will never deal the insane damage that a Reaver is capable of.  I knew I wouldn't be able to pull off Reaver.  I would hate being so close to death always.  Champion has great survivability.

Yea reaver aka blood mage warrior annoyed me, its animations just does not fit a warrior. A monk class maybe but definitely not a warrior. I miss my berserker's.

Now that I spent all my brain power coming up with a warrior build I like, now I gotta make sure my party is up to snuff.  That means mages and rogues.  My party kinda sucks right now.  Not sure if its my builds for them or the AI sucking massively.  Any ideas?  I read all the posts on the subjects on here.  Nobody can agree on a build for mages and archer rogues.

Just made an Abraham Lincoln character, and he's gonna be a two-handed champion. Templar seemed more fun to "role-play" as - Abraham Lincoln, Demonhunter - but champion seems better in general.

I am finding that the success of your char is more gear driven.  Soon as I got better weapons my damage went way up.  That and paying attention to passives and what situations they take advantage of.
