I love this game, I truly do, but there are some genuinely heart-breaking / creepy / shocking moments in there that make me feel so BAD about my Inquisitor.

Case in point: I'm hunting the murderous bear (A Bear to Cross) and it attacks me, with its cubs in tow. I have half a mind to simply run away, though I could easily dispatch it at this point. But, come on, kill the baby bears? That's beyond cruel. - Why not give us the option to move camp?

Something similar happened to anyone?

Goes around murdering thousands of people and other creatures for hours on end - no problem. But the baby bears though, how can we!

You have a point, though I usually try diplomacy first. Clearly, that tends to work less when it comes to Venetori, dragons, etc.

I've officially decided the companions have no idea what they are talking about as far as the well is concerned. Solas tells you that 'Morrigan shouldn't drink it.' If you drink it, he throws a temper tantrum at you.

Basically he's saying that "No one should drink from it" probably... too bad we don't get the option.

He's using reverse psychology... *headcanon*

I hated that too.  I love bears, to the point I generally try to avoid killing them in games where I can (in Skyrim where they will usually growl warnings at you first, for example, and you can just run past them).  I could just about get to the point where I thought, well, RP-wise, if this bear is posing a threat to the people around here, I guess I have to take care of it.  And then it had babies and I had to kill them and I spent that whole fight screaming 'OH MY POOR BABIES, I AM A MONSTER!' and my partner laughed at me.

I kind of felt that way about the dragons too, really.  I know they're dangerous, but they're so cool, it seems a shame to kill them.  Mama needs shiny new daggers though.

That said, biggest WTF moment was probably anything to do with the ancient elven stuff (the Well, the Crossroads, the Mythal and Fen'Harel reveals.)  Or Bianca's discovery about the red lyrium, which...raises questions!

That moment when I found the skeleton of a child under a skeleton of an adult. And can loot a bloody teddy bear from the child skeleton. WTF?

There also seem to be a lot of star crossed lovers who leave notes, meet up or don't meet up, and then die together or apart.  :(

That is awful.

And yeah, seriously. Do not leave anyone a note if you plan to meet them somewhere. There's like a 90% chance you'll die.

I desperately wanted to tell that couple at the abandoned Crestwood Tavern "DONT GO TO THE SPIDER CAVE NO MATTER WHAT."

Being in love increases your chance to die grim deaths by 9001% in Thedas.

Ouch, even more depressed now. (I did clean out a few wyvern nests after all, but mostly managed to ignore the worst of it by using tons of flashy spells, so I could barely see a thing.)

On the other hand: has anyone caught Dorian's comment in the Forbidden Oasis? Something along the line of 'are there any giant sandworms here'? Still makes me laugh.

Well, it certainly brings home the horrors of a chaotic and terrible war.

First time one of my companions decided to blow up a nug, there was a lot of shouting involved and I didn't noticed the poor thing until it was too late. Felt very bad about it.

I don't know if I want to kill dragons, they are just too awesome and seem not to be bothering anyone, except maybe for one.

Is this in Vivienne's quest? I refused last time because...secretive mage asking for help with secret. Got an anders vibe. If this is from that, looks like she won't get it done again. I go out of my way not to kill creatures I don't have to and killing dragons is horrifyingly brutal.

Hmm.. I'm starting to feel like an ass for not being bothered by this stuff. Then again my main genre of choice for games is horror. :P

I'm actually surprised people feel horrible for killing dragons. It's an action RPG game where the main gameplay is to kill. Maybe because I have played too many games of similar genre, I don't find anything wrong with killing these dragons. It's a spiritual successor of dungeons and dragons and killing dragons are usually one of the main goals. If you don't kill them, they will kill you. It seems like a case of Draco in leather pants.
