I went with the Templars for my first playthrough. I'll go with the mages in the second... whenever I get around to that.

 

I went mages on my first playthrough and tried Templars my second time around, only to discover that Ser Barris somehow...

died in the last few seconds of the fight at Therinfal.  Whoops.

I picked mages first. Being a mage myself it was a no-brainer, and I usually tend towards the mages' side in general.

The other reason was Dorian The first time I saw him on screen I was intrigued by his character.

I've done 2 other playthroughs since and always picked the mage side, even though for my 3rd I wanted to pick templars as I was going for a templar-ish character, and I tried it out and kinda rushed through it only to see what it's like. Simply because I wanted to play the mage quest again. I love it too much.

But for my next playthrough I will definitely play the templar path in its full length.

I truly regret not conscripting the mages. At first I went for the alliance because your character is given no reason to do otherwise.

Maybe you would do it 'cause you're upset at them for taking Alexius' offer? It seems petty.

But then I read about the epilogue where Cassandra is Divine and they wage war against her reformed Circle. What a bunch of ungrateful little shits.

What O.O My second PT I allied with the mages and got Cassandra as Divine... I do not remember that being said at all... I wonder if I saved my slides from the end of that game...

Bah... apparently I only saved the slides from my first game :/ My current game is another mage ally one, but that's on hold until my PS4 gets fixed. And I'm not sure if I am going to end-up with Cassandra as Divine or not.
