I'm on my third character and just got the invite from Vivienne, but I'm not planning on recruiting her this time because I'm a mage.  Even though I didn't hate her character, I didn't love her either.  Is there any sort of penalty at the end for being a no-show to her soiree?

Pretty sure the only thing that happens is you don't get access to her wartable missions (the Truth or Dare set).

Not unless you're romancing Sera in which case you'll miss an extra sexytimes scene, but that's it.

There's no explicit penalty to rejecting a companion, so you won't miss anything besides the obvious.

Nope, I'm on my second PT without her (this time I am KE myself) so no negative side effect.

Well, except you'll have to pay 17 gold for the KE book in Val Royaux except of having it delivered door to door to Vivienne's chest

A few war table missions, the strongest mage in the game, the most clever mage in the game, her personal quest, easy recruitment of Enchanter Ellendra (Connections Perk), the Knight-Enchanter manual for free, dialogue, and apparently if you don't take her advice while romancing Sera, your romance scene will fade to black.

There is no penalty for not recruiting her. IMO not recruiting Vivienne will at least keep me from having a migraine.

Apparently you can't progress Sera's romance after a certain point. Other than that you don't miss out on anything other than filler war table missions.

The only penalty is to your wardrobe - she does promise to take you to see her seamstress one day! And the Sera thing apparently, heh.

Doesn't Dorian provide another option for Sera's FTB?

Only if you say no to Vivienne the first time I believe.

FYI, if you don't recruit her before Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts, her soiree disappears from your map and you can't get her.  No penalty that I noticed for "forgetting" to attend her salon.

I think you can't get her as Divine if you don't recruit her which means that Leliana or Cass will have to be divine which means Cass could break up with you if you romance her and she becomes Divine.

And what if you go to Dorian first and then to Vivienne? Or is it impossible? Sorry, I never romanced Sera, so I don't know how exactly that quest goes, but you got me curious here.

It shuts off I believe as it works like a regular quest with a checklist and once the conversation has been had the option disappears.

Unless you romance Sera. She can still become the divine if your choices match for her best I think. Also she is the strongest companions on the game so it's up to you.

If you missed the mage who offers the invite at Val Royeaux can you still go back and talk to him later? I haven't gone to Skyhold or done Wicked Hearts yet.

She's the strongest because she's a KE, correct? I can be trained to do that, I thought.  I've experienced her twice including both of her personal missions and all of her dialogue so I'd like to do something different this time around.  Does Enchanter Elledra provide anything of significance other than more power points or war table missions? I've already gotten an agent I didn't get on my last two playthroughs (mage in Hinterlands) so if I miss her it might balance out.  I've also chosen Arcane Knowledge with my first Perk.  I'm planning on taking Dorian and Solas out with me and becoming a KE so even if I did recruit her she'd just sit around Skyhold.

I'm not planning on romancing Sera so no worries there.

Yea, I've never actually used her in a group because both my playthroughs have been on a mage I was taking KE because I really enjoy it... plus Dorian and Solas are just fun to have around :)

She is totally Bada** at dragon slaying!  You will miss her skills there. And her snarky comments, and the way she dominates the DOM. Aside from that, a few war table quests.

I found her to eb a power hungry bigot only interested in forcing her fellow mages back into the gilded cage of the circles, and making sure she herself never set foot in one.

That is possibly true, but I still got some enjoyment out of listening to her be a total b***h, and watching her kick dragon butt as a KE. That and listening to Bull say "yes ma'am"!

I didn't find the very few times I found her amusing outweighed the times I wanted to throw her off the highest tower :P

Well at least you won't have a headache listening to her put down people. She is only good for her intro anyway because she looks sexy as hell. After that.........yeah.
