Okay, so first off, understand that for many this isn't a debate, but my PC's not very rugged. It's a laptop, and not exactly a powerhouse, though it does meet minnmum requirements (though I've heard the game's a bit of pain to get running on Windows Vista and up). So my big question is, is it worth the extra $5 U.S. to get it on the PC? Especially when I'll be playing with a controller anyway.
The PC version's listed as Special Edition, and I understand there's a handful of extras, but does anyone have a full rundown? The wiki was a bit unclear about what's different in each version, primarily because there are 3 listed versions.
Is the version on the XBOX Marketplace based on the original release of the game, or the second release? And what were the differences.
I know is and older post, but my take on this is [ PC compatibility, I can take a game from 1980, and with maybe a few tweaks or dos Box have it up and playing on my Computer in short order ]
Your system may be a little short for this game, and if you have a good Xbox to use, you will be okay with that for now.
But with Consoles what I have seen is that every 3 or 4, maybe 5 years that change, and all games from before on the earlier version are suddenly unplayable, maybe not right away but soon the older Console can no longer be replaced, and so those games you bought at 40 to 70 buck each are not even heavy enough to make a good paper weight.
I still play Unreal tournament, Tribe, and Tribes 2, and diablo 2, and many other older games that are really fun to play. Also thanks to some great emulation programs for My computer, I play all my Final fantasy games as well.
Consoles are cheaper than a solid Computer, but they have been notoriously terrible at compatibility when ever they are updated. now that the PS4 has arrived, all the PS3 games are pretty much toast or soon will be.
Steam, and Origin durability is a concern for me if they go belly up, or there policies change to a less dependable system. many games will be history, even for a computer.
How ever I still think if you can afford it, and keep it up to date a computer is the over all best game machine, for the compatibility reasons I mentioned mostly.
But that is just my take on it.
