Is there a fix to the "Ashley Williams Marksman bug" yet?

I've experienced it where she just does the "omni-tool dance", I've read that if you activate it manually it works? But, I haven't tested that method yet I don't have a save file with Ashley to try it out at the moment.

I don't think it has been fixed officially by BioWare/EA through a patch? But, I know there are always modders that work around stuff so I didn't know if anyone had created a fix yet.

If you set powers to manual, it works.

Otherwise, yeah she constantly reloads, even if you give her an overheat weapon like the Lancer or particle rifle.

It's a bug that was never fixed.  One last dis to her character.

No, there is not. Powers that halt cooldown for the duration of the power do not work correctly on NPCs. I have tested Adrenaline Rush on squadmates, and it results in the NPC spamming the power non-stop occasionally. Best thing to do is to not spec into it for NPCs.

Also, the same for Stim Packs for Wrex in Citadel DLC. He tends to use them all in a row instead of waiting for the effect to finish.

One more sign that Mass Effect betatesters are probably the "super-lazy and fat" cliché ones :D

Not specing any points in Marksman.

Or "squadmates manual power use" setting.

If you keep powers on automatic but just hotkey her Marksmanship to your bar and press it for her does that work? Would hate to control everything manually, but could deal with pressing her 1 power.

It's still pretty useless since Squad mates are not aggressive like the player. Have you tried fighting your own squadmates?

I'm with Excella Gionne on this.

While I agree with the sentiment that all powers should work correctly on squadmates, I still think Marksman is a terrible talent on Ashley.

I used to spec into it when it used to work, until I realized a few things:

1. Shepard can kill much faster than any squadmate; a byproduct of squadmates dealing only 30% of base weapon damage by default.

2. On Ashley, Marksman has a shorter duration than its cooldown (by default). Squadmates do not fire continuously, and tend to fire in bursts. So not only would Ashley be without Marksman for periods of time while it is cooling down, she would also not be using it while she ducked back into cover every few seconds.

3. Using Marksman locks her out of using Concussive Shot, which is a great combo detonator.

Once I realized all that, I never specced into it again and Ashley became a much more useful squadmate.

Other than setting squad powers to manual, if you are on PC you can try and follow the instructions found here:

Personally haven't tested this as I currently do not have ME3 installed. admittedly.

Nope. Get ready for a long wait, that's never getting fixed.

Unless you meet a modder willing to get into the core gameplay to fix the issue.

iakus called it a dis. I just laugh at the uselessness of it.

Oh well, at least it works well on Shepard.

I'm working on this one right now; I'm surprised there's not a *.zip file out already with the edited files to just download and install; it's a PITA though, working on editing the DLC files for Ash, but it takes so long to extract the *.sfar files. Wish I had enough money to buy huge solid state drives and RAID them together ;_;

Well, Ash was not treated well as a character in ME3.  But rendering one of her powers totally useless was icing on the cake.

I don't mind. IMO, I think the series would have done well treating her poorly. Plus, speaking objectively, you're equating a faulty gameplay mechanic/glitch/bug as an intended slight on her character. That's a bit bonkers.

Word of God and all, but that's just my opinion. I think you should blame the QA testers for that, not the writers.
