Maybe he means something like Watchmen? Or perhaps Sin City.
In tone maybe. Not so much in style. I suppose I should have put more emphases on grittier. Though The Shield can get about as dark if not darker than L.A. Noire.
I just think the interrogations and such with L.A. Noire could really mesh well with the elements and similar segments found in the show. Plus 21st century L.A. to roam around in is always fun.
