Here is my problem.  I start teh game, and everything runs smoothly.  I was, at first, going to use my turtle beach diesel headphones, so I plugged those in, watched some videos while it decrypted through Steam, and then started Mass Effect 2.

Every other sound effect was loud and proud.  The music was good, the beeping, etc.  Then Miranda started talking.  I could barely hear her.  So then I turned up my volume, but soon her voice, and the Illusive man's voice, were drowned out by the music.  I closed the game, switched over to normal speakers, but same issue.  I can't hear any voices, evenw ith game music and sound effects muted completly (which sucks, by the way).  I trie dplaying with subtitles, barely hearing any voices, but then, the audio cut out whenver someone was trying to use a comm.  Oh, and my subwoofer wouldn't respond to the base at all.  It was just my speakers, unless I unplugged them, which than only gave me sound through my sub, which completly sucked.

So I"m asking bioware and the community.  What is my problem?

I am running Windows 7 64-bit.  I have Realtek High Definition Audio drivers, 5.1 surround sound for speakers.

Please help :(

Same thing here, some voice audio is gone entirely and I only know it's there because of the subtitles. (windows 7, soundblaster audio)

Is this because of hardware audio? In ME1 I could turn it off, but I didn't see a way to do that in ME2.

Solution is to manually configure your audio utility to a 2CH output ME2 does not have settings because it andjusts to your system defaults.
