So, after finishing up the Winter Palace quest, I went back to Skyhold and talked to all the companions/advisors, anticipating (correctly) that they might have some new dialogue available. Blackwall was in a sour mood and told a story about how he regretted an incident from his childhood when some other children were torturing a dog and he didn't intervene.
However, he was unselectable when I went to the Hinterlands, and while he was clearly feeling glum, I don't remember him saying anything about needing some time off or otherwise leaving. This also happened with Solas after his spirit-friend died, but in that scene I actually saw him walk away and it was clear that he needed a break. Am I supposed to know where Blackwall has gone and why, or is he going to turn back up and explain this later?
