Why are people flooding the servers with elementalists it's bugging all the games, maybe it's the Christmas rush people who don't know this.

Actually, it seems to be when specifically using Firestorm that the key won't drop.

 

I've played several matches with Elementalists who aren't using Firestorm and have experienced no problems re the key not dropping.

as a head's up, although Firestorm may bugout the DLC, it works fine on the original MP.

Lol aah got to love it and should i point out i use my ele 90 percent of the time i play. But yet to run into the key glitch using fire storm. Lol something about this thread reminds me of a very racist idea ( we all know the one). Should i also point out that the key glitch is random but can be reduced by killing the animals before the normal mobs.

As long as the ELE uses firestorm only in round 5, I have no problem with them joining.. Every time an ele uses firestorm any other round, they bug out the match.. spent 10 minutes yesterday because some dickhead would not stop using firestorm so we had to host migrate each bloody time until we got 3 of us in the party so we could boot him out... We specifically told him No firestorm until round 5.. either he did not speak english or was just a complete tosser

On the topic of key drops, I had a game where we actually got the key by back-tracking and finding a wolf that somehow died and stood up again in the middle of a room.  It didn't show up on the mini-map and didn't have a health bar, but hitting it enough times made it die again and drop the key.  I don't think we had an ele though, so maybe it's a different bug?

Well the point is, when the no key bug happens and you have an ele in your party then its his fault.

When the no key bug happens and you don't have any ele in the party then that's pure coincidence.

Um, no. I use the Ele quite a bit and key drops are rarely based on the kit I'm using.

The elementalist and firestorm are not the only causes of the key glitch.

I've been in matches with no elementalists and had the key glitch.

They maybe a contributing factor but until all causes are known, there's no point telling people to not use a certain skill or class due to uncertain circumstance.

If it bothers you that much just delete the dlc. Thread after thread of people complaining about something that has such a simple solution, it boogles the mind.

thats correct but they are a big contributing factor, unfortunately.

still, no player is to blame but the devs and the lack of communication/information (from Staff) here regarding this and other gamebreaking topics in these forums dont help much either

My Ele does use Firestorm and has had no key trouble. Because I don't spam it at every red dot I see on the mini map.

It's the hoods that does it.

 

 

PS anybody help an old gamer out on how to quote in this damned forum - the quote buttons bring up a box but absolutely no copying/pasting seems allowed. Obviously a noob...

I'm running a non-AoE Elementalist with straight elemental magic and barrier.

 

It probably isn't optimal but is fun and safer than a Firestorm Ele.

I used to have that problem with an old version of Firefox but it works fine now. I also noticed I can't have the mouse below the last line or the copy/paste option doesn't show up. If you just can't copy/paste with your mouse try Ctrl/C for copy and Ctrl/V for paste.

Thanks for the advice Tigger, unfortunately that doesn't seem to be my problem, although I tried it. . Can bring up a box by clicking the quote icon in my reply, but can't past anything into it (or select a target), and the quote button on everyone's posts does nothing. Unless any guru shows up and know what the problem is (?) I might have to use '^'

I have never cast Firestorm once in DAMP. Even without considering the key bug, I find terribly annoying when other players spam Firestorm, so I decided to skip this ability altogether.
