There are still Mothers all over the place. Just not Grand Clerics. I think Cass and Leli are asked, simply because it's a means to get good with the Inquisition (or possibly even get the Inquisition under control, from it's own point of view).

Doesn't matter that there are mothers all over the place.  Anyone who was qualified was at Haven.  That's flat out stated by multiple people.

The reason Cass and Lel are even in the running is because no one else is acceptable, and they at least were trusted by Justinia.  That's said outright if you ask.  You can guess at other motivations, but that is the one we're given.

I like Unhardened!Leliana to go with my Briala-behind-the-throne playthough.  Complete chaos in the nobility circles in Orlais.

It's a tough pick between Broodmother and Morrigan.

I'm going against the flow and would choose Leliana...she would be at her happiest. Actually, I just completed the game but Cassy was made the Divine even though I never coaxed her. Sorry Leliana...maybe next playthrough for you :)

Damn, I totally forgot about Isabela.
Sure, it must be Isabela. Hey, I'd go around to spread the word of Isabela.

Hmm, I am thinking Mother Giselle (dedicated, has a strong character and a reasonable stance on magic), but I find it really hard to forget (or forgive) her reaction to Dorian, specifically my Inquisitor's interest in him.

I honestly liked her up to that point - but right then? What a shrew!

Unhardened Leliana to me seems like the one who's Chantry is the least likely to become corrupt. Not sure though since I never had a Leliana that didn't turn to the dark side. ^_^

Honestly though none of them seems all that likely to succeed with reforms.

Vivienne wouldn't even try to fix the core problems of the Chantry leadership I think. She would just enjoy being one of them.
Cassandra has good intentions but honestly with her I see history repeating itself. I'm pretty sure the early andrastian faith was just like her and look how that turned out. Evil Leliana might be able to reform stuff but she is setting up a system that could very easily turn into suppression and domination. The Divine after her might use the tool Leliana created to turn the entire thing into something bad.

I might be cynical but I don't see a happy ending for those who want a nice Chantry who won't try to bully and forcefully converting others. It's not their faiths fault but I think their church need a complete overhaul and not just a new leader.

Depend on which character I'm playing.

My self-conscious mage Trevelyan will pick either softened Leliana or Cassandra.

My Dalish mage will choose hardened Leliana or Viv. Because, well hey! Mayhem! I'm not Andrastian! More Mayhem the Better. Or Sera.

To me, it shouldn't matter who Justinia trusted or knew. I don't even think she was that good of a divine (I didn't want her to die either though.. don't get me wrong). If the whole fate of a religion rests on a warrior and a rogue, non-clerics, who happen to be my party members.. then the Chantry is more screwed than I thought. I like them both, but this is lame.

Your choice is Giselle a worthless fool without a spine, a weakling who would be easily intimidated and manipulated by her betters

Hmmm...which Broodmother?

But, I agree with your other post.... Isabela all the way.

IDK, maybe have Sera and Zevran as her right/left hands.

Myself a Man and a Mage. Lord Inquisitor and Most Holy Divine Trevelyan bringing the barbarian South to the True Path of Salvation.

*snip*

Myself a Man and a Mage, and also a (Vashoth) Qunari. Lord Inquisitor and Most Holy Divine Adaar who has the good intention for all, who's tough but fair, who'll come down hard on any that dare challenge him, who'll bring change to Thedas and bringing the barbaric, ignorant South to the True Path of Salvation.

Aww, you're afraid that my Inquisitor will bring Southern Thedas forward.

I understand it's too good for you to handle. Since you seem to prefer that we all should live with old and decaying system.  :P

Sigh. Damn.

Honestly though, the whole idea is kind of.... too "metal" for me. I like metal btw.. I just can't combine it with "Chantry".

OTOH, I kind of wish they could have included it. As it is, you can't really be an ass in this game. And it's too easy to win people's trust. They could have used more divisive scenarios.

I like Leliana unhardened, but hard is ok too, it just makes me feel like putting on a fake moustache, twirling it and tying someone to the railroad tracks.
