I can imagine her first week in office already...Grand enchantress Fiona.
Still fine with big red on the throne, soft or hard.
I'd have made Dog or one of his descendents if he's dead Divine, just for the kicks.
Pretty happy with hardened Leliana though, certainly wouldn't Giselle anywhere near the sunburst throne.

Id put Sera on the throne just for the entertainment value that it would bring
It might work.... at times.
Clarel could have been her right handI can imagine her first week in office already...
"My advisors have informed me that a Qunari invasion is imminent. Therefore to protect the mages of Thedas from this horrible threats, I have begun reconcilliation with the Imperial Chantry. All members of the Chantry are to join the Imperial Chantry, following the true Divine. I assure you that this is absolutely necessary to prevent the Qunari invasion that the Tevinter representative assured me is coming."

Ideally I'd pick Cass with conditions of mage freedom and abolition of the templars. Even if she doesn't agree, I feel she'd handle it best.
I think she handles it best already, if you make Leliana divine, and Cass reforms the Seekers.
The Iron Bull simply to see what kind of chaos it would cause.
Mayhem.
Mayhem.
Isabela...
Isabela...
Now that is a Chantry I would love to sign up for

All mages would be dead within the week...

Or maybe just have lizards put in their beds. Or a pie in the face.

Demons are allergic to pies, good thinking Divine Sera!

Not really, Sera doesn't hate mages, she's just afraid of magic like most regular people
I was mostly kidding, but a fear of magic in your Divine definitely isn't great for Mages

I wanted Giselle too. To me, neither Cass/Lelianna seem to fit. Well, Lelianna but Cassanra to me, prefers to be a behin the scenes type gal
I was absolutely convinced the game was setting Mother Giselle up as the next Divine, or at least as a strong candidate. I really like her, and her reaction to Dorian doesn't change that because she does seem to come around and sincerely apologize after I firmly stuck up for him. If anything, there should be more of that from more people. Nobody can tell me that about a third or even half of our companions wouldn't raise a lot of eyebrows and suspicions. A Tevinter mage in the middle of a war with Tevinter supremacists. Two elves, one of them an apostate and one a particularly snotty 12-year-old criminal. A bleedin' qunari, who are worse than the Vints, and he's also a dishonorable sellsword who cares only about gold and killing. Worst of all, if also unknown to pretty much everyone, there's the killer demon trying to deceive everyone into believing it's nice and harmless. Not my opinions, of course, and you should be able to convince allies and followers who question the presence and trustworthiness of these people, but enemies and detractors would have a field day with all this ammunition.
Ahem. Back on topic. I don't think Mother Giselle would do well with the spiritual side, including reforms, but unfortunately the job requires political skill too, and she likely would not do well there due to lack of interest. Unlike Cassandra, who also can't do politics worth a damn (part of why I love her), she cannot fall back on the "punch whiny idiots into the next age" method of debate.
Leliana has the political acumen, and her "softened" self might do well, but I don't really trust her to remain stable with all the personality changes she's gone through ... and her epilogue is maybe too "perfect".
Cassandra is perfect in all respects, except... except she'd want me, Solas and Dorian imprisoned in new Circles with other mages(we'd have fun playing Diamondback, I'm sure). I'd tried to change her mind, but nope. So Leliana it is. Ah well. At least Cassandra would have her freedom. And maybe find happiness.
I'm not sure we ever have free will in the game. Take my last playthrough:
Me: So, the mark on my hand is magic and not divine! Yay, I'm going to tell everyone!
Hawke: Nope, you aren't.
Loghain: Nope, you aren't.
Stroud: Nope, you aren't.
Alistair: Weeeell... nope, you aren't.
Josephine: So, that mark on your hand...
Me: Magic and not divine. Let's tell everyone!
Mother Giselle: Hello, Inquisitor. I heard that the mark on your hand was magic. It's very good that you haven't told anyone.
Me: (headdesk)
I swear, it's a conspiracy.
Well, aside from male mage pc, Solas and Dorian make amusing candidates...
